CELEBRATE THE LORD
Leviticus 23:7,21,24,27
On the first day of the festival, all the people must stop their ordinary work and observe an official day for holy assembly.
That same day will be proclaimed an official day for holy assembly, a day on which you do no ordinary work. This is a permanent law for you, and it must be observed from generation to generation wherever you live.
“Give the following instructions to the people of Israel. On the first day of the appointed month in early autumn, you are to observe a day of complete rest. It will be an official day for holy assembly, a day commemorated with loud blasts of a trumpet.
“Be careful to celebrate the Day of Atonement on the tenth day of that same month—nine days after the Festival of Trumpets. You must observe it as an official day for holy assembly, a day to deny yourselves and present special gifts to the Lord.
Yesterday we looked at the Lord's festivals, we saw the need to celebrate the Lord daily in our lives.
Today we see it again and again, note that the Lord through Moses carved out days where the people dedicated themselves entirely to the Lord. The essence of this of course was to ensure that the people's heart remained with the Lord and did not drift away.
Remember that Moses was away for just 40days from the people immediately they received the first part of the commandments. The people requested for a golden calf to worship!
It takes a little challenge or a little breakthrough or prosperity and some quickly forget God. However, the believer who has learnt to celebrate God can not be easily swayed away. Why?
The condition is not what makes them what they are, they are who they are.
Consider one of my mentors Joseph. He remained who he was, whether as a son loved by his father, a brother betrayed by his older siblings put in a pit and then sold to strangers as a slave. He yet remained faithful when he found himself as a slave in Egypt, further tempted by his master's wife (he didn't yield) and even when this led him to be thrown into prison. Joseph just remained faithful, he kept celebrating God. We can talk of David, Daniel and many others in and out of written scriptures.
Truly the condition shouldn't be the reason. No. It should be your natural state to celebrate the Lord.
Ephesians 5:20
And give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Hebrews 13:15
Therefore, let us offer through Jesus a continual sacrifice of praise to God, proclaiming our allegiance to his name.
As believers we should celebrate the Lord at all times and in all things.
Do you remember those requests you made years ago that made you cry. Reflect on them now, have they been fulfilled, would you have made those requests if you had the opportunity to see what today is?
We must remember that at that point of need, it may look as if the whole world is crumbling for you. However, the Heavenly Father is the Ancient of days, the Alpha and Omega, He sees and knows our tomorrow better, therefore, it is wisdom to trust in Him.
Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.
Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.
Instead of running here and there seeking the help of man or men who claim to represent God, celebrate God.
Do you recall what the psalmist said:
Psalms 23:6
Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever.
Why do supposed believers turn it the other way round? Where is the faith, where is the grace, where is the favour?
The secret is celebrating the Lord in all things. He will always glorify His name.
Celebrate the Lord today and everyday, show your children how to do same, let those who are close to you hear about it.
Psalms 150:6
Let everything that breathes sing praises to the Lord!
Praise the Lord!
PRAYER
Dear Heavenly Father, may I continually bring praise to You. May You be celebrated in every aspect of my life. I am Yours Lord therefore I must continually prosper and increase in all good things. Thank You Lord.
He calls us blessed.
Love
