NO DEFECTS
Leviticus 3:1
“If you present an animal from the herd as a peace offering to the lord, it may be a male or a female, but it must have no defects.
When anyone come to the Lord they come as they are and they receive His salvation. He then makes everything new, gives us a reset in the spirit, a new life, we then have the opportunity to start again on a clean slate.
2 Corinthians 5:17-18a
This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!
And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ.
John 3:3,5,7
Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God.”
Jesus replied, “I assure you, no one can enter the Kingdom of God without being born of water and the Spirit.
So don’t be surprised when I say, ‘You must be born again.’
When this initial salvation is done the next step is to study His word and be filled with His Spirit to live the new life day after day. We are expected to grow in maturity, fellowshipping with others while we continue in personal relationship with our Heavenly Father getting to know Him better day after day.
Now to the topic.
After you have come to the Lord, you must offer the sacrifice "with no defect"!
Ephesians 5:27
He did this to present her to himself as a glorious church without a spot or wrinkle or any other blemish. Instead, she will be holy and without fault.
Romans 12:1
And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.
Our offering to the Lord must have no defect!
It begins with our bodies, including our mind and heart. Then our service.
Romans 12:6-8
In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much faith as God has given you.
If your gift is serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, teach well.
If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly.
Whatever we offer to the Lord must be without blemish. Even our services to the brethren, be it teaching the word, prayer, singing, counselling or any form of exhortation.
The Heavenly Father deserves the best.
It goes forth to our work even in the secular world, we must shine as light. We must not be counted among the lazy, mediocre, those that are never punctual neither should we have a bad report.
Matthew 5:16
In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.
In business we stand out, in education we excel, in our work we are splendid, these are the testimonies of those who have the new creation and are filled with God's Spirit.
Listen:
Colossians 3:17
And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father.
Remember we represent the Heavenly Father everywhere we are, we carry His Spirit, thus, excellence is our nature.
We will be presented holy and acceptable to the Lord now and at the end of all things.
Thus keep your heart from malice, pride, foolish gossip, bitterness, racism, tribalism, envy, abominations and any form of wickedness. You are the first offering to the Heavenly Father, you must be without defect. Selah
Help us Good Lord.
He calls us blessed.
