HOW TO WALK WITH GOD

Exodus 36:8-9

The skilled craftsmen made ten curtains of finely woven linen for the Tabernacle. Then Bezalel decorated the curtains with blue, purple, and scarlet thread and with skillfully embroidered cherubim.
All ten curtains were exactly the same size—42 feet long and 6 feet wide.

When we read through the remaining verses in Exodus 36, we wonder what we learn from all the details involved in the construction of the tabernacle and it's interior fittings.

What comes to mind is God's instructions to Noah:

Genesis 6:14-15,22

“Build a large boat from cypress wood and waterproof it with tar, inside and out. Then construct decks and stalls throughout its interior.

Make the boat 450 feet long, 75 feet wide, and 45 feet high.

So Noah did everything exactly as God had commanded him.

It reminds us that walking with God requires a key element, that element is Obedience.

Obedience is the key factor to walking with God.

People wonder why they are not too close to the Heavenly Father, they hear of those in scriptures who walked closely with Him and long to have the same opportunity but sometimes it is for their own good that they are not too close.

I remember when some of our youths many years ago asked why they could not have that special relationship with God, like Moses, Elijah and some of those of old enjoyed. I told them that it could possibly be for their good.

For,

Luke 12:47-48

“And a servant who knows what the master wants, but isn’t prepared and doesn’t carry out those instructions, will be severely punished.

But someone who does not know, and then does something wrong, will be punished only lightly. When someone has been given much, much will be required in return; and when someone has been entrusted with much, even more will be required.

To be entrusted with so much of the Lord you need to prove your ability to be responsible.

The Lord will not take it lightly with you if He entrusted so much to you then you mess it up. This is why maturity is needed for you to take up responsibility.

Obedience is key. It takes responsibility to be fully obedient.

Remember why Saul was rejected, Samuel told him:

1 Samuel 15:22b

Listen! Obedience is better than sacrifice, and submission is better than offering the fat of rams.

It is one thing to say you want to hear from the Lord, it is another to be ready to obey fully.

(***Now read cautious here, don't miss the point 👇)

For those of you who have fully made supposed men of God idols, you say they hear from God. Have you asked yourself why they only hear juicy things from the Lord. They never hear God telling them to go to the war torn areas, places like the core North of Nigeria, Yemen, Iraq, North Korea etc to preach the gospel, instead they only hear of assignments in the United States, Europe and other prosperous country. Places that are already over flooded with the gospel. Hmm

Never get over your head!

See, to really walk closely with God, you must be ready to obey - "as He commands".

It is not a joking matter, it is serious business to walk with God. Look at our study of Genesis, you see a generation where only one man was found blameless. One in the whole earth!

It happens again and again as you go through scriptures increasing as the population on earth increases.

Are you really ready to walk with God? Or remain in the bandwagon of the juice lovers?

He will not force you to, so know your lane? Selah

Don't come shouting, "thus says the Lord", when He hasn't said anything!

Not everything the Lord instructs you to do will be easy!

However, to really experience God you must be obedient ready!

Help us Good Lord.

He calls us blessed.
