HOLY TO THE LORD

Exodus 30:21,33,38

They must always wash their hands and feet, or they will die. This is a permanent law for Aaron and his descendants, to be observed from generation to generation.”

Anyone who makes a blend like it or anoints someone other than a priest will be cut off from the community.''

''Anyone who makes incense like this for personal use will be cut off from the community.”

There was a holy standard kept for the priests and the people at the time of the old covenant. Definitely God's requirement of holiness had always been there from the beginning, having to do with walking in good works, summarily obedience to living righteously.

When Christ came to set us free, He did not come to make us unholy but actually more holy.

He said:

Matthew 5:48

But you are to be perfect, even as your Father in heaven is perfect.

Peter explained further:

1 Peter 1:15-16

But now you must be holy in everything you do, just as God who chose you is holy.

For the Scriptures say, “You must be holy because I am holy.”

More is actually expected of us.

Listen to what Jesus said:

Matthew 5:20

“But I warn you—unless your righteousness is better than the righteousness of the teachers of religious law and the Pharisees, you will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven!

Our salvation separates us from the congregation of sin and makes us a member of God's kingdom.

So Christ's liberty is not for sin but to make us live a holy and separated life. That which we could not do because of the bondage of sin and death (also ignorance) He has empowered us to do.

So let no one live in sin and expect God's grace to abound, we are inexcusable!

Romans 6:1-2

Well then, should we keep on sinning so that God can show us more and more of his wonderful grace?

Of course not! Since we have died to sin, how can we continue to live in it?

Romans 2:1(kjv)

Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things.

As believers, we are called to holiness, separated to the Lord. We cannot act anyhow or defile ourselves. We must not cause what is holy to the Lord to become a mockery because of our disobedience and self gratification.

Many have disobeyed the second commandment by using the name of the Lord in vain. How?

The claim that they bear the name of the Lord yet they walk in iniquity. You cannot bear the name of God or His Christ and walk in iniquity, it is defiling His name. God told Moses that, that which is reserved for the consecration of the priest should not be used for any other purpose, the repercussion was death or total annihilation from the people.

Many have already been cut off from eternal glory for they claim they are of God but their works are of iniquity.

Jesus said it clearly:

Matthew 7:21-23

“Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter.

On judgment day many will say to me, ‘Lord! Lord! We prophesied in your name and cast out demons in your name and performed many miracles in your name.’

But I will reply, ‘I never knew you. Get away from me, you who break God’s laws.’

O help us Heavenly Father, where have we missed it, bring us back to the right path. As we remember the death and resurrection of Your Son the Christ, may the blood shed cleanse us of all unrighteousness and Your Spirit continue to lead us in obedience.

Help us Good Lord.

Glory to Your name forevermore.

He calls us blessed.

Love
