Exodus 32:1,4,7

When the people saw how long it was taking Moses to come back down the mountain, they gathered around Aaron. “Come on,” they said, “make us some gods who can lead us. We don’t know what happened to this fellow Moses, who brought us here from the land of Egypt.”

Then Aaron took the gold, melted it down, and molded it into the shape of a calf. When the people saw it, they exclaimed, “O Israel, these are the gods who brought you out of the land of Egypt!”

The Lord's told Moses, “Quick! Go down the mountain! Your people whom you brought from the land of Egypt have corrupted themselves.

One thing we observed about the children of Israel at the time when Moses came to them was their familiarity with idols. They seemed to have forgotten the God of their fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and made themselves familiar to the idols in Egypt.

The had no idea who Almighty God was.

This is why they quickly sought an alternative when Moses was off for 40 days.

It seemed as if it was Moses they saw as God.

(Dear pastors, ministers, bishop, apostle or whatever title you bear, draw people to the Heavenly Father through Christ Jesus, that is your duty, not to yourself, show them the way, don't put them into another form of bondage)

As we remember Christ's death and resurrection and also His ascension. We must understand that only Christ could reveal who the Father was and how He wants us to worship Him.

John 1:17-18

For the law was given through Moses, but God’s unfailing love and faithfulness came through Jesus Christ.

No one has ever seen God. But the unique One, who is himself God, is near to the Father’s heart. He has revealed God to us.

John 4:23-24

But the time is coming—indeed it’s here now—when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. The Father is looking for those who will worship him that way.

For God is Spirit, so those who worship him must worship in spirit and in truth.”

Are we making the same mistake today?

Do we know God as we ought to know Him or are we quick to run to idols/alternatives?

This is why elements are Not advisable for believers, this is the believe in tangible things to invoke the supernatural be it water, air, fire, salt, handkerchief, oil, metals, wood, whatever it is. Our faith should be on the Almighty and His person, His desire is for us to know Him, worship Him and be His children.

Ezekiel 2:3-4

“Son of man,” he said, “I am sending you to the nation of Israel, a rebellious nation that has rebelled against me. They and their ancestors have been rebelling against me to this very day.

They are a stubborn and hard-hearted people. But I am sending you to say to them, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says!’

They saw the miracles done in Egypt, the parting of the red sea, the defeat of the enemies, manna from heaven also water from the rock yet they did not believe.

They just couldn't know who The Almighty was!

Many who may have gone apostate today, would once have experienced God's power in their lives. They would have experienced the power in His word and the move of His Spirit. However, a little challenge, philosophical arguments, a burst of prosperity or even the intimidation of multitudes could make a weak heart sway to the wrong direction. We seem to forget easily!

Exodus 32:26

So he stood at the entrance to the camp and shouted, “All of you who are on the Lord’s side, come here and join me.” And all the Levites gathered around him.

Even when Moses came down and called on those who were on the Lord's side to join Him, many hesitated. Many died that day. God actually wanted to wipe out the whole nation, but Moses interceded.

Exodus 32:31-35

So Moses returned to the Lord and said, “Oh, what a terrible sin these people have committed. They have made gods of gold for themselves.

But now, if you will only forgive their sin—but if not, erase my name from the record you have written!”

But the Lord replied to Moses, “No, I will erase the name of everyone who has sinned against me.

Now go, lead the people to the place I told you about. Look! My angel will lead the way before you. And when I come to call the people to account, I will certainly hold them responsible for their sins.”

Then the Lord sent a great plague upon the people because they had worshiped the calf Aaron had made.

Glory to God for intercessors today, many still pray for their nations even in the midst of the corruption going on in them. Abominable acts are now being legislated as a norm, leaders are corrupt, innocent people are killed, the earth and it's environments are continuously polluted. In all of these intercessors are still out there praying for their nations.

However judgment will yet come!

Everyone will account for the life they lived on earth. All who reject the Heavenly Father and His Christ will be ready to face judgment.

Revelation 1:7-8

Look! He comes with the clouds of heaven. 

And everyone will see him— even those who pierced him. 

And all the nations of the world will mourn for him. 

Yes! Amen!

“I am the Alpha and the Omega—the beginning and the end,” says the Lord God. “I am the one who is, who always was, and who is still to come—the Almighty One.”

Where do you stand? What is the state of your heart? Do you know God, do you worship and fellowship with Him? Forget the matrix of the world don't be caught in it. Yes we have a life to live here, work to do, however don't let it make you forget the Almighty.

He may give us a free hand to do what we want here, however, He doesn't expect us to do evil or forget Him.

It happened before, it is happening now. Evil has filled the world, don't get caught in it. Don't join the apostate, come to Christ the only one who revealed the Father. Stay true, stay faithful.

Colossians 3:17

And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father.

O help us Good Lord. Have mercy on the kind hearted.

He calls us blessed.
