THINK OF YOUR GENERATION

Genesis 49:1,28

Then Jacob called together all his sons and said, “Gather around me, and I will tell you what will happen to each of you in the days to come.

These are the twelve tribes of Israel, and this is what their father said as he told his sons good-bye. He blessed each one with an appropriate message.

Do we understand that as a person we are a starting reference for a generation. Knowing this, we ask ourselves: What legacy have we built?

The choices we make, will definitely tell on our children born and unborn. Yes they can emancipate themselves, but they will first experience the stain.

Proverbs 22:1

Choose a good reputation over great riches; being held in high esteem is better than silver or gold.

The impoverish, immoral and corrupt society does not just occur, it emanates from the permitted wrongs of a generation.

Hebrews 3:10

So I was angry with them, and I said,

‘Their hearts always turn away from me.

They refuse to do what I tell them.’

The same way a righteous, prosperous and godly society emanates from a disciplined and righteous generation.

1 Peter 2:9

But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.

Will we be like Abraham entrusted with the mantle of faith, to teach his children the ways of the Lord or will our generation be the one that rebelled against God setting bad examples for the coming generations?

The choice is ours.

Jacob also prophesied of the coming of Christ as he blessed Judah.

Genesis 49:10

The scepter will not depart from Judah, nor the ruler’s staff from his descendants,

until the coming of the one to whom it belongs, the one whom all nations will honor.

Again and again we see the revelation of the Messiah all over the record of the scriptures. May we continue to reveal Christ to those under our care and show forth His example to the whole world.

Our generation will please and praise the Lord.

We will win.

So help us Good Lord.

He calls us blessed.

Love
