THAT WHICH BRINGS GREAT MEN DOWN - PRIDE (a reminder)

Exodus 7:1

And the LORD said unto Moses, See, I have made thee a god to Pharaoh: and Aaron thy brother shall be thy prophet.

By now we know that the most dangerous character that could destroy anyone is PRIDE. This was what caused the enemy to lose his position and make "them" accursed. It is still his selling point when he tempts, all in an attempt to destroy man.

Genesis 3:6
The woman was convinced. She saw that the tree was beautiful and its fruit looked delicious, and she wanted the wisdom it would give her. So she took some of the fruit and ate it. Then she gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it, too.

Matthew 4:10
“Get out of here, Satan,” Jesus told him. “For the Scriptures say,
‘You must worship the Lord your God and serve only him.’”

It is as if the enemy is trying to prove to the Heavenly Father that everyone is like him!

Isaiah 14:12-14
“How you are fallen from heaven,
O shining star, son of the morning! You have been thrown down to the earth, you who destroyed the nations of the world.
For you said to yourself, ‘I will ascend to heaven and set my throne above God’s stars.
I will preside on the mountain of the gods far away in the north.
I will climb to the highest heavens
and be like the Most High.’

Thus all temptation originates from the fantasy of the enemy.

Psalm 10:2
The wicked in [his] pride doth persecute the poor: let them be taken in the devices that they have imagined.

Psalm 10:4
The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek [after God]: God [is] not in all his thoughts.

For when you look at those who oppress others just as we see with Pharaoh, we know that pride is at work here. That is what makes one think that they are higher or better than their fellow humans.

Psalm 31:20
Thou shalt hide them in the secret of thy presence from the pride of man: thou shalt keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues.

What does the Heavenly Father say about it?

Proverbs 8:13
The fear of the LORD [is] to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.

For pride comes, it comes with many packages and all of them are evil!

Thus in thinking he was something, that He was in charge,  the Lord had to deal with him:

Exodus 7:3
But I will make Pharaoh’s heart stubborn so I can multiply my miraculous signs and wonders in the land of Egypt.

Leaders face plagues to bring them to their level, - mere humans. Those who find themselves in position of authority and refuse to do the right things, oppress those under them, live in lies and steal the common wealth are cursed and there is only one thing left for them: DESTRUCTION!

No matter how high we get, or whatever height we attain we must never forget who really is in charge.

Every temptation is rooted in pride, to make the Father irrelevant in our lives, we must not give in, the enemy may have fallen, we don't have to. Christ and many other elders of old showed us this.

Wisdom is to remain on the righteous side of God.

He calls us blessed.
