KNOW WHO YOU SERVE

Colossians 3:24

Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.

There are many things that are not under our control.

Surely there is a limit on what we can choose. Yes there are things that are not completely in our control, we are brought into them. For instance, we did not choose who our parents, siblings or children would be!

The same way there is a limit to the choice of who we work under or serve. Also those who work with us. For instance Joseph could not decide Potiphar or his wife's character. He just had to serve them.

Knowing this, what do we do?

Colossians 3:23

And whatsoever ye do, do [it] heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;

This is why Joseph said:

Genesis 39:9

 [There is] none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou [art] his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?

Joseph knew who he served! Not Potiphar, but God the Almighty.

This saved him from falling into the traps of the enemy that would have destroyed his destiny.

We see that later on, Potiphar and his wife had to answer to Him.

Genesis 41:40-43

You will be in charge of my court, and all my people will take orders from you. Only I, sitting on my throne, will have a rank higher than yours.”

Pharaoh said to Joseph, “I hereby put you in charge of the entire land of Egypt.”

Then Pharaoh removed his signet ring from his hand and placed it on Joseph’s finger. He dressed him in fine linen clothing and hung a gold chain around his neck.

Then he had Joseph ride in the chariot reserved for his second-in-command. And wherever Joseph went, the command was shouted, “Kneel down!” So Pharaoh put Joseph in charge of all Egypt.

Glory to God.

As believers we understand that our kingdom, economy and major aspects of life, are not limited to this world. We have a kingdom with the Heavenly Father that surpasses the common law of men.

1 Thessalonians 2:12

We pleaded with you, encouraged you, and urged you to live your lives in a way that God would consider worthy. For he called you to share in his Kingdom and glory.

I know who I serve. Do you?

God the Almighty, creator of all things. Revealed by His Son, the Word. Living in me by His Holy Spirit.

When you know this you know peace, you are NOT broken by the err of people but stand strong no matter the situation, for you trust in the One who is above all.

Do you know, who you serve?

Colossians 3:23

And whatsoever ye do, do [it] heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;

He calls us blessed.
