FULFILLING DESTINY
Genesis 47:11-12
So Joseph assigned the best land of Egypt—the region of Rameses—to his father and his brothers, and he settled them there, just as Pharaoh had commanded.
And Joseph provided food for his father and his brothers in amounts appropriate to the number of their dependents, including the smallest children.
The joy of living on earth is fulfilling destiny. All your struggles, work, study, etc are towards fulfilling destiny.
You will Not find peace till you have accomplished your purpose.
Joseph saw his destiny from a distance (a dream), he held on to it till he accomplished his propose.
What was his strong hold. He kept his faithfulness and trust in God.
No matter what he passed through, he reminded himself of what the Lord had promised him.
He did not compromise.
Genesis 39:9b
How could I do such a wicked thing? It would be a great sin against God.”
God in turn kept faithful to Him through all the stages.
1 Corinthians 10:13
The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.
We cannot afford to only think about the moment when we make decisions we must remember the long term, for our destiny is at stake.
There is no joy like facing all your battles as a youth that you may grow older to enjoy the spoils of your labour. Pay the price while you are young and strong and reap the fruits when you have grown older.
Lamentations 3:25-28
The Lord is good to those who depend on him, to those who search for him.
So it is good to wait quietly for salvation from the Lord.
And it is good for people to submit at an early age to the yoke of his discipline:
Let them sit alone in silence beneath the Lord’s demands.
Enough of youths throwing away their season of sowing to foolish pleasures, idleness and sin. Many of us cry today when we think back on what we would have accomplished if only we properly invested our time, energy and spirit.
LET OUR CHILDREN NEVER MAKE THAT MISTAKE!
Ecclesiastes 12:1, 3-7
Don’t let the excitement of youth cause you to forget your Creator. Honor him in your youth before you grow old and say, “Life is not pleasant anymore.”
Remember him before the door to life’s opportunities is closed and the sound of work fades. Now you rise at the first chirping of the birds, but then all their sounds will grow faint.
Remember him before you become fearful of falling and worry about danger in the streets; before your hair turns white like an almond tree in bloom, and you drag along without energy like a dying grasshopper, and the caperberry no longer inspires sexual desire. Remember him before you near the grave, your everlasting home, when the mourners will weep at your funeral.
Yes, remember your Creator now while you are young, before the silver cord of life snaps and the golden bowl is broken. Don’t wait until the water jar is smashed at the spring and the pulley is broken at the well.
For then the dust will return to the earth, and the spirit will return to God who gave it.
It also applies to study, investment, hard work and good character.
May we fulfil our destiny, bring glory to God that we may reap His earthly and eternal reward.
So help us Good Lord.
He calls us blessed.
Love
