YOU CAN'T CHEAT THE BLESSED

Genesis 31:6-9

You know how hard I have worked for your father,

but he has cheated me, changing my wages ten times. But God has not allowed him to do me any harm.

For if he said, ‘The speckled animals will be your wages,’ the whole flock began to produce speckled young. And when he changed his mind and said, ‘The striped animals will be your wages,’ then the whole flock produced striped young.

In this way, God has taken your father’s animals and given them to me.

When your trust is in the Lord, the plots of man will not prosper against you. He is God, He does what He pleases and He is over all. No one can win a battle against Him.

Thus that which was planned for evil against you, who is His, will turn out to become good.

Romans 8:28

And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.

Jacob had done Laban no wrong, instead he had served for many years and because of him, Laban had favour

We understand that humans could get carried away with the foolishness of hate and envy, even of people not at the moment above them. It doesn't matter if they are richer, more highly placed than the other, it is just the foolishness of man. For wandering thoughts, evil whispers, negative opinions and lack of the fear of God makes man act less than human.

What does God promise?

Isaiah 54:17

No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue [that] shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This [is] the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness [is] of me, saith the LORD.

This is why the best insurance, is to be under the canopy of the Lord.

Psalm 91:1

He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

For surely they will gather, they will plot, yes they will speak against you, but the Lord says He will fight our battles.

Isaiah 54:15

Behold, they shall surely gather together, [but] not by me: whosoever shall gather together against thee shall fall for thy sake.

Laban's sons were crying foul, Jacob had to remind them that he was the architect of his loss:

Genesis 31:1

And he heard the words of Laban's sons, saying, Jacob hath taken away all that [was] our father's; and of [that] which [was] our father's hath he gotten all this glory.

There is no time evil wins, no, don't be deceived, you are not a fool for remaining on the good/right side.

Psalms 1:4-6

But not the wicked! They are like worthless chaff, scattered by the wind.

They will be condemned at the time of judgment. Sinners will have no place among the godly.

For the Lord watches over the path of the godly, but the path of the wicked leads to destruction.

When the Lord begins to deal with the evil ones, even you will feel sorry for them. For the Pharaoh at the time of Moses thought he was stubborn, he asked "who is this God?". The scriptures recorded that the Lord helped him harden his heart even further, that he may have a full taste of God's wrath.

You can never play too smart with the Heavenly Father, Ahab learnt it the hard way.

Be ready if you war against God's own for the repercussion is better imagined

Who is that who wants to cheat God's own, they want to take advantage? I weep for them!

Hebrews 10:31

[It is] a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

People would ask what of brethren hurting, cheating or taking advantage of another brethren? (Laban was not an outsider)

It is shameful, and they would be treated as the enemy.

1 Corinthians 6:8-9

Instead, you yourselves are the ones who do wrong and cheat even your fellow believers.

Don’t you realize that those who do wrong will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don’t fool yourselves. Those who indulge in sexual sin, or who worship idols, or commit adultery, or are male prostitutes, or practice homosexuality,

The Lord will treat those ones as the evil ones, for it is not what you claim, but who you are.

2Timothy  2:19

Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

2 Timothy 2:19

But God’s truth stands firm like a foundation stone with this inscription: “The Lord knows those who are His,” and “All who belong to the Lord must turn away from evil.”

If you are a true believer, be sure of this:

The Lord takes care of His own, of whom I am one. Glory to His Holy Name.

He calls us blessed.
