WHEN GOD BE FOR YOU

Genesis 31:6-7,38,42

You know how hard I have worked for your father,

but he has cheated me, changing my wages ten times. But God has not allowed him to do me any harm.

“For twenty years I have been with you, caring for your flocks. In all that time your sheep and goats never miscarried. In all those years I never used a single ram of yours for food.

In fact, if the God of my father had not been on my side—the God of Abraham and the fearsome God of Isaac—you would have sent me away empty-handed. But God has seen your abuse and my hard work. That is why he appeared to you last night and rebuked you!”

We cannot explain why people would find joy in acts of wickedness against another, even to their relatives. However, we know it has been there for ages.

Jacob worked faithfully for twenty years for his uncle Laban and all he got in return was oppression.

There is one thing though; the LORD was with him.

See, when the Lord is on your side He converts all their evil intentions to good for you.

Psalms 124:1,8

What if the Lord had not been on our side?

Let all Israel repeat:

Our help is from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.

It is thus wisdom to keep our allegiance with the Heavenly Father, for even when humans are good to you He is the one that works in them.

As we go on this year of accomplishment, let us go with the assurance of those who have put their trust in the Lord.

Are we believers and yet act as Laban did?

Do we oppress others who are kept under our care, our relatives, employees, those who we ought to lead, etc?

The Lord sees all and He will avenge the oppressed.

Never put your self in a position when you make the Lord Your enemy! Never

Romans 12:19

Dear friends, never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God. For the Scriptures say,

“I will take revenge;

I will pay them back,”

says the Lord.

Instead, position yourself in the place of the Lord's favour.

Remember,

Hebrews 12:14-15

Work at living in peace with everyone, and work at living a holy life, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord.

Look after each other so that none of you fails to receive the grace of God. Watch out that no poisonous root of bitterness grows up to trouble you, corrupting many.

The Lord will fight our battles, woe unto those who come against us. We will not oppress others we will not be on the wrong side of the battle.

So help us Good Lord.

He calls us blessed.

Love
