RECONCILIATION

Genesis 33:3-4

Then Jacob went on ahead. As he approached his brother, he bowed to the ground seven times before him.

Then Esau ran to meet him and embraced him, threw his arms around his neck, and kissed him. And they both wept.

What is gained by conflict?

It is better when it is an external force, you can come together internally to fight it.

The problem arises when the conflict is within.

I always say that almost all our problems as humans are caused by us

Christ said:

Matthew 12:25

Jesus knew their thoughts and replied, “Any kingdom divided by civil war is doomed. A town or family splintered by feuding will fall apart.

There is always a loss when we allow internal conflicts, it may not be worth it.

Esau had reason to be annoyed with Jacob, he had cheated him. Though Esau had his faults, he seemed to have lived carelessly, his marriage to strange women was evidence of that.

However wisdom taught him to let it go, for Jacob carried the blessing, enmity with him was like enmity with God.

Listen to this last part of the declaration of Isaac on Esau:

Genesis 27:39-40

Finally, his father, Isaac, said to him,

“You will live away from the richness of the earth,

and away from the dew of the heaven above.

You will live by your sword,

and you will serve your brother.

But when you decide to break free,

you will shake his yoke from your neck.”

. . . But when you decide to break free, you will shake his yoke from your neck.”

Your liberation is in your hands.

As long as Esau was annoyed with Jacob he remained under the curse. However, when he shakes off the offence he can liberate himself.

Many are still locked under the bondage of others due to non-forgiveness, bitterness, hatred etc.

It is time to shake it off and be free to prosper in your liberty.

I believe Esau set himself free by removing the yoke of anger and hate, thus he could prosper!

He didn't have to live with Jacob but he was free from any form of bitterness. Selah

Jacob on his own part also knew he had to reconcile, he wronged his brother, so he came bearing gifts.

Don't let anyone hold you bound. Reconcile.

Above all, are you reconciled to God. Remember that only Christ is the advocate, no one else, whether in heaven or on earth. Reconcile!

So help us Good Lord.

He calls us blessed.

Love
