KNOW WHEN TO MAKE A PACT/TREATY

Genesis 21:32-34

After making their covenant at Beersheba, Abimelech left with Phicol, the commander of his army, and they returned home to the land of the Philistines.

Then Abraham planted a tamarisk tree at Beersheba, and there he worshiped the lord, the Eternal God.

And Abraham lived as a foreigner in Philistine country for a long time.

Wisdom is the principal thing, in all your getting get understanding.

Proverbs 4:7

Getting wisdom is the wisest thing you can do!

And whatever else you do, develop good judgment.

Know whom you make a pact with. Don't create battles for yourself. The challenges that come naturally are enough already.

Jesus, the Messiah said:

Matthew 6:34b

Today’s trouble is enough for today.

Jesus also said:

Matthew 5:25-26

“When you are on the way to court with your adversary, settle your differences quickly. Otherwise, your accuser may hand you over to the judge, who will hand you over to an officer, and you will be thrown into prison.

And if that happens, you surely won’t be free again until you have paid the last penny.

There is no joy in fighting unnecessary battles, even those who do not know the Lord learn how to be careful with the children of the Lord to save themselves from the wrath of God. This is what Abimelech the king of Gerar did.

Children of God should also understand what agreements are and thus use them appropriately. Make good contracts, don't be content with a friendly offer, make the right agreements and sign the necessary papers.

We must not create or fan the flames of conflict.

Make your dealings clear, pay for what you ought to pay for and hold the agreement documents. Save yourself lots of heartaches by doing things rightly.

Genesis 21:28-30

But Abraham also took seven additional female lambs and set them off by themselves.

Abimelech asked, “Why have you set these seven apart from the others?”

Abraham replied, “Please accept these seven lambs to show your agreement that I dug this well.”

Taking the right steps will save you and your children from future conflicts.

We will not get into unnecessary battles. God's peace will reign over us.

Help us Good Lord.

He calls us blessed.
