FATHER OF FAITH

Genesis 15:6

And Abram believed the Lord, and the Lord counted him as righteous because of his faith.

The special thing about Abram was his ability to believe God even when it seemed unreasonable. He was not the first, we can talk of Enoch and ofcourse Noah, who stood out when the whole world was corrupt.

The believing of Abram was what made God account Him as righteous.

Ephesians 2:8-9

God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God.

Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.

Does this then imply that we can live anyhow and expect grace to abound. No, the next verse says:

Ephesians 2:10

For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

The evidence of your believe is not just saying so, it is your actions that prove your faith.

One thing we know of Abraham was his adherence to instructions.

When God asked him to move, he did.

Most of us claim faith, but do we have the obedience to prove it?

Again I say, our obedience is the prove of our faith.

Christ asked:

Luke 18:8b

But when the Son of Man returns, how many will he find on the earth who have faith?”

Most of us know how to talk about it, but it is not a talk but a living/walk.

Romans 1:17

This Good News tells us how God makes us right in his sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. As the Scriptures say, “It is through faith that a righteous person has life.”

As our knowledge of God grows so also does our faith grows and it is evident in our walk/works.

Abram had no child, yet God was giving him generational promises.

Genesis 15:1,5-6

Some time later, the Lord spoke to Abram in a vision and said to him, “Do not be afraid, Abram, for I will protect you, and your reward will be great.”

Then the Lord took Abram outside and said to him, “Look up into the sky and count the stars if you can. That’s how many descendants you will have!”

And Abram believed the Lord, and the Lord counted him as righteous because of his faith.

Where are you now? What promises are you holding onto? Keep faith, the Lord will surely do it.

While you wait, stay faithful.

So help us Good Lord.

He calls us blessed.
