COMPLETED TRANSACTION - "Christ-mas"
Genesis 23:16-18,20
So Abraham agreed to Ephron’s price and paid the amount he had suggested—400 pieces of silver, weighed according to the market standard. The Hittite elders witnessed the transaction.
So Abraham bought the plot of land belonging to Ephron at Machpelah, near Mamre. This included the field itself, the cave that was in it, and all the surrounding trees.
It was transferred to Abraham as his permanent possession in the presence of the Hittite elders at the city gate.
So the field and the cave were transferred from the Hittites to Abraham for use as a permanent burial place.
Any good business man would understand the importance of a completed transaction. Not just a mere word of mouth or promise, but a full payment for full transfer of ownership. This is especially important in transaction involving landed property, sale of assets or absorbing an establishment.
When God was to transact the business of redeeming man, He made a full payment. He had to physically come on earth via His Word, His Son Yeshua HaMaschiac, Jesus the Christ, to make a full payment for the sin of man and return all who accepts to Himself.
John 1:1,4,14
In the beginning the Word already existed.
The Word was with God, and the Word was God.
The Word gave life to everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone.
So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son.
This is why He could say when He breathed His last breath:
John 19:30
When Jesus had tasted it, he said, “It is finished!” Then he bowed his head and released his spirit.
Many today remember the birth of Christ, but of the significance of the birth, some have no clue. Some are celebrating holidays, some are celebrating Santa Claus, some are just about partying, hanging lights, songs and parties, how many really know the essence of His coming?
Abraham needed to bury his wife in a good property. He was offered it for free, he said NO. He was a wise business man, he paid in full that the property will not only become his own but that of his descendants.
Many make choices at the moment without thinking of the future consequences. Many live their lives on earth not thinking of eternity. Whether you think of it or not, it will surely come.
Wisdom is thinking of where you will be after here as you celebrate or watch others celebrate. What is the reason for the season?
As we apply wisdom in our every day dealings, we will make wise and completed transactions that will NOT cause controversies in the near or distance future.
Christ's birth was to ensure that there is no more controversy. Salvation has come to man.
Isaiah 7:14
All right then, the Lord himself will give you the sign. Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son and will call him Immanuel (which means ‘God is with us’).
Isaiah 9:6-7
For a child is born to us, a son is given to us.
The government will rest on his shoulders.
And he will be called:
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
His government and its peace will never end.
He will rule with fairness and justice from the throne of his ancestor David for all eternity.
The passionate commitment of the lord of Heaven’s Armies will make this happen!
If it is Christmas then tell the masses about Christ!
Let them know of the completed transaction. Salvation has been done, payment was made in full
He calls us blessed
Love
