UNITY (a reminder)
Psalm 133:1
Behold, how good and how pleasant [it is] for brethren to dwell together in unity!
Oneness, this is Christ purpose for us as believers.
John 17:21
That they all may be one; as thou, Father, [art] in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.
How can believers be one? When we have the same purpose and goal. We look unto the Heavenly Father. We walk in love, for without love, unity cannot be achieved.
1 Peter 3:8
Finally, [be ye] all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, [be] pitiful, [be] courteous:
For love is the message from the beginning, it is the essence of the law. For without love, we are already guilty of breaking the law. Grace is an offspring of love.
1John 3:11
For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.
Do the brethren of today walk in unity?
This is left for us to answer.
For where there is NO love, there cannot be unity.
Ephesians 4:2-3
With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;
Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
What is hindering our unity?
James 4:1-3
What is causing the quarrels and fights among you? Don’t they come from the evil desires at war within you?
You want what you don’t have, so you scheme and kill to get it. You are jealous of what others have, but you can’t get it, so you fight and wage war to take it away from them. Yet you don’t have what you want because you don’t ask God for it.
And even when you ask, you don’t get it because your motives are all wrong—you want only what will give you pleasure.
The killer of unity is selfishness, when we seek our own alone.
That gift, those talents, those blessings ought to work for the edification of the body of Christ. It is not for show, it is NOT a competition.
Ephesians 4:11-13
Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers.
Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ.
This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ.
NOT A MONEY MAKING VENTURE!
NOT FOR TITLES AND TO OCCUPY HIGH PLACES LIKE THE Pharisees AND Sadducees!
NOT FOR SHOW OFFS!
Not to LORD it over others.
BUT
For UNITY, that all may come to maturity.
The Heavenly Father will bless all those keeping faith, who work His purpose. Don't get tired, don't be disillusioned, the Lord sees your labour of love and He will definitely reward you. Praise His Holy name.
Never join the wagon of the losers who seek their own thing. Stay faithful to Christ.
Remember that it is in unity the Lord commanded everlasting blessings.
Psalm 133:3
As the dew of Hermon, [and as the dew] that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessing, [even] life for evermore.
May the Lord bring us all in His love, in unity. May our eyes be focused on the right goal. We are more than conquerors. Halleluyah.
He calls us blessed.
Love
@the watcher.
