THE VERDICT

Genesis 3:17

And to the man he said, 

“Since you listened to your wife and ate from the tree whose fruit I commanded you not to eat, 

the ground is cursed because of you. 

All your life you will struggle to scratch a living from it.

There is a repercussion for every action. We could try to give excuses, however one fact remains and that is - they were warned!

Genesis 3:11

“Who told you that you were naked?” the Lord God asked. “Have you eaten from the tree whose fruit I commanded you not to eat?”

There are so many warnings in scriptures that believers ignore they are recorded both in the new and old testament. 

We cannot keep doing the wrong things then cry foul when the result is manifested.

Proverbs 1:29-33

For they hated knowledge and chose not to fear the Lord.

They rejected my advice and paid no attention when I corrected them.

Therefore, they must eat the bitter fruit of living their own way, choking on their own schemes.

For simpletons turn away from me—to death. 

Fools are destroyed by their own complacency.

But all who listen to me will live in peace, untroubled by fear of harm.”

So man chose a temporary pleasure instead of staying loyal and obedient to God and thus lost our liberty and authority to the evil one. Death was the repercussion, God was very clear about it. Justice was served.

However God's love for man was so strong - Christ was to come pay the price. Glory to God.

Romans 6:23

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.

In all we see a Good Father who loved us even when we did not know Him.

Don't take His love for granted. There is yet a verdict at the end of all things.

Romans 14:12

Yes, each of us will give a personal account to God.

Help us Good Lord.

He calls us blessed.
