THE DOT THAT STAINS

Ecclesiastes 10:1

As dead flies cause even a bottle of perfume to stink, so a little foolishness spoils great wisdom and honor.

An adage says: "he that is down has no fear of falling down".

Everyone has their label, what each one is known for, when they act it is not strange till they act out of character.

When a drunkard drinks it is nothing special but when we see a person who has never tasted alcohol drinking, it becomes news.

Ecclesiastes 10:2

A wise person chooses the right road; a fool takes the wrong one.

Let us look at one of my mentors - Daniel:

Daniel 6:3-4

Daniel soon proved himself more capable than all the other administrators and high officers. Because of Daniel’s great ability, the king made plans to place him over the entire empire.

Then the other administrators and high officers began searching for some fault in the way Daniel was handling government affairs, but they couldn’t find anything to criticize or condemn. He was faithful, always responsible, and completely trustworthy.

They had to search rigorously to find a fault in Daniel. What can be called a forensic audit of Daniel's handling of government affairs found him:

* Faithful

* always Responsible, and

* completely Trustworthy

Wow, what a record.

How many believers today hold such record?

Just a little push here or there and we compromise.

1 Corinthians 4:2

Now, a person who is put in charge as a manager must be faithful.

It is really the problem of believers today, that little dot can become the focus, while the whole white part of your garment is ignored.

The story is told of a lecturer who comes into a class with a large white paper, he makes a very tiny dot on it. Turning the paper to students he asked them what they could see. They all responded that they see a dot.

None acknowledged the white paper.

This is how it is when we allow the smallest dot on our white garment.

For Christ did this for the church:

Ephesians 5:27

He did this to present her to himself as a glorious church without a spot or wrinkle or any other blemish. Instead, she will be holy and without fault.

We must stay spotless, the Holy Spirit is there to help us. However, if there is any stain:

1 John 1:7

But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.

So help us Good Lord.

He calls us blessed.

Love
