SUBMIT TO GOD, RESIST THE ENEMY

1 Peter 5:6-8

So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor.

Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.

Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.

There is a way to settle a battle most likely without fighting at all. Give your allegiance to a much higher power.

Jeremiah 32:27

“I am the Lord, the God of all the peoples of the world. Is anything too hard for me?

Isaiah 45:5a

I am the Lord; there is no other God. 

So we have an enemy who claimed to be the god on earth, his desire is to trouble man to keep him bound in sin. What is man to do?

Go to Him that is greater than the evil one and find refuge.

Psalms 91:1-2

Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

This I declare about the Lord: 

He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him.

One thing though:

He is the greatest of all, no other higher authority, He is the zenith of it all.

How do we access Him, is He not far away from us?

Not really, He revealed Himself through His Son to the whole world.

Isaiah 9:6-7

For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. 

The government will rest on his shoulders. 

And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

His government and its peace will never end. 

He will rule with fairness and justice from the throne of his ancestor David for all eternity. 

The passionate commitment of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies will make this happen!

John 1:12,14,17-18

But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.

So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son.

For the law was given through Moses, but God’s unfailing love and faithfulness came through Jesus Christ.

No one has ever seen God. But the unique One, who is himself God, is near to the Father’s heart. He has revealed God to us.

So we give our allegiance (submit) to the Heavenly Father through Christ Jesus, He gives us the right to be called children of God.

Glory to God.

Then we resist the devil and he flees from us.

His weapon fashioned against us cannot prosper:

Isaiah 54:17

But in that coming day no weapon turned against you will succeed. 

You will silence every voice raised up to accuse you. 

These benefits are enjoyed by the servants of the Lord; their vindication will come from me. 

I, the Lord, have spoken!

So we can summarize it thus:

We submit to the Heavenly Father through His Son Jesus the Christ, then He dwells in us by His Spirit. Then we resist the enemy and he flees from us. Glory

So instead of me wasting time worrying, glorifying or researching the work of the enemy, NO, I seek to know the Heavenly Father more, dwell in His presence and keep worshipping. This is true wisdom, this is victory.

Glory to God forevermore.

He calls us blessed.
