WHO IS AROUND YOU?
Matthew 13:30
Let both grow together until the harvest. Then I will tell the harvesters to sort out the weeds, tie them into bundles, and burn them, and to put the wheat in the barn.’”
The parable of the wheat and tares is one of Jesus's parable about the kingdom of God. It tells us literally about the separation at the end of times between the true believers and the agents of darkness planted by the enemy.
However, let us look closely, how does it concern us? Who are the tares/weed?
The Merriam Webster dictionary defines a weed as " a plant that is not valued where it is growing and is usually of vigorous growth, especially one that tends to overgrow or choke out more desirable plants"
So there is an influence of the weed/tares on the good seed. A bad influence!
Let us listen to Jesus talk about the weed again:
Matthew 13:3,7,22
He told many stories in the form of parables, such as this one:“Listen! A farmer went out to plant some seeds.
Other seeds fell among thorns that grew up and choked out the tender plants.
The seed that fell among the thorns represents those who hear God’s word, but all too quickly the message is crowded out by the worries of this life and the lure of wealth, so no fruit is produced.
My wife asked just as some ask, why not just pull out the tares? Well Jesus gave the answer:
Matthew 13:28-29
“‘An enemy has done this!’ the farmer exclaimed.“‘Should we pull out the weeds?’ they asked.
“‘No,’ he replied, ‘you’ll uproot the wheat if you do.
We can discuss this further, however I believe God's wisdom is greater than that of man - "we only know in part".
So we see the work of the thorns/tares/weeds - they choke out life(word) from the good seed/believer.
Knowing this we ought to be conscious of those around us, the place doesn't matter, in fellowship/church, at work, in the neighbourhood, at school, whenever the place, understand what/who is around you.
Are they chocking the word of God out of you? Are they leading you to sin?
You are a good seed so do what Christ says:
John 15:4-5
Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me.
“Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.
Remain in Christ, don't let any suffering, pain, enjoyment, breakthrough or sentiment take you away from Him.
See, what do we have to lose, for even if they say He is not real, so what? Is it not safer to stay faithful, you loose nothing. However, if He is real, you loose everything. It is not mere fear or foolishness but wisdom.
Mathew 10:33, Psalm 14:1.
There are tares all around us most of them come in camoflage, don't fall for it. Know who is around you.
I always preach especially in this end-times that we should never allow any human no matter their title take the place of God in our lives. Never.
God will help us, we will remain faithful. We are not victims but victors.
Glory to God.
He calls us blessed.
Love
