I WISH
2 Corinthians 6:2
For God says,
“At just the right time, I heard you. On the day of salvation, I helped you.”Indeed, the “right time” is now. Today is the day of salvation.
How many times have we thought: "I wish I did this ten years ago, O how much better of myself I will be now"
I am guilty here 😔
Listen, will you still say the same thing ten years from now?
I heard a phrase from one of my teachers many years ago and I paraphrased and repeat it to all young people who seek my counsel:
"What you are today is a function of what you did or did not do yesterday. Also what you will be tomorrow is also a function of what you will do or not do today!"
So, we see that it is left to us, we canNot just wish it to be, we have to go further to plan it and implement it. Little steps that take us to the goal.
Are you a parent and under your watch your children are making the same mistakes you made or even worse? Wake up, today is the day of salvation.
Enough of the complain, it is time for action.
Habakkuk was complaining, he was asking God why this or that, the Lord answered him:
Habakkuk 2:2-3
Then the Lord said to me,
“Write my answer plainly on tablets, so that a runner can carry the correct message to others.
This vision is for a future time.
It describes the end, and it will be fulfilled.
If it seems slow in coming, wait patiently, for it will surely take place.
It will not be delayed.
For when you don't have the vision you can be easily distracted, you will keep fighting battles that are not necessary and are not yours.
Stop the wishing and start:
Proverbs 16:9
We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps.
So many start a new thing, they may have seen the vision, even written down the plans but something lacking could hold then down:
Hebrews 12:11-13
No discipline is enjoyable while it is happening—it’s painful! But afterward there will be a peaceful harvest of right living for those who are trained in this way.
So take a new grip with your tired hands and strengthen your weak knees.
Mark out a straight path for your feet so that those who are weak and lame will not fall but become strong.
Discipline is the word. If there is no discipline, you will not stay on track, you will not meet up the daily goal, you could get distracted by little challenges or small/temporary victories.
Wake up!
This also applies to our spiritual lives. What happened to your prayers, study of the word, are you still propagating the gospel, are you conscious of your works emanating from the fruit of the Spirit in you? You must be purposeful about it.
Some are purposed to counter the truth you hold, they research and study to prove the truth wrong while the church is asleep or pursuing fame, money or relevance.
Wake up!
Where is the next generation of believers being trained?
Elders, today is the day of salvation.
Wake up!
Enough of wishes, let us begin.
Help us Good Lord.
He calls us blessed.
Love
@the watcher.
