GOD IN THE PSALMS(a reminder)

Psalms 108:5

Be exalted, O God, above the highest heavens.

May your glory shine over all the earth.

David was one man who had an understanding of who God was in His time, his Psalms are full of revelations of the Father, the Son and even the Spirit. We cannot fully get enough songs from his worship and thanksgiving to God. No wonder then God said of him:

Acts 13:22

And when he had removed him, he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave testimony, and said, I have found David the [son] of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will.

In Psalms 24 there was a declaration:

Psalms 24:1

The earth [is] the LORD'S, and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.

Do you know that everything rests on these, every definition is all around or about God. I wrote on some atheist's platform recently that they are all still about God (they say there is no God, they are actually talking about Him!) the Psalms still have something for them:

Psalms 14:1

The fool hath said in his heart, [There is] no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, [there is] none that doeth good.

Psalms 53:1

The fool hath said in his heart, [There is] no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: [there is] none that doeth good.

No matter how much they run from the truth, God is, and still will have the final say.

Another category are those who know that there is God but yet refuse to worship, serve or obey Him:

Psalms 3:2

Many [there be] which say of my soul, [There is] no help for him in God. Selah.

Psalms 73:11

And they say, How doth God know? and is there knowledge in the most High?

Psalms 50:22

Now consider this, ye that forget God, lest I tear [you] in pieces, and [there be] none to deliver.

Sometimes we ask, "why all these bother?", can't we just do what we like and live how we please, why this worry(s) about God or righteousness or eternity.

This cannot be the reasoning of the wise:

Psalms 90:12

So teach [us] to number our days, that we may apply [our] hearts unto wisdom.

The truth still remains that we are created in the image of God we can choose to do what we please, however we do not have the right to decide or control the consequences.

I gave this illustration to some who asked about the tree of Good and Evil. The fact that you bought electricity into your house to supply you power does not mean you should toil around with the control box that supplies this power into your home. The same way God told them not to eat of the fruit, you also instruct those in your home especially your children not to tamper with the life power source. Could they tamper with it? Yes they can, but can they control the outcome, no, it will definitely lead to an electric shock.

Excuses would not cease on why people would want to forsake the Lord and His ways. Yet the truth still remains that the earth is the Lord's and its fullness therefore. Jesus in a parable said:

Luke 19:27

But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay [them] before me.

The rejection of God, His Christ and His ways is an ongoing agenda of the enemy. It is a battle that has been on a long time. The infilteration in homes and churches, such that the love of God would not reign is still an ongoing mission. However it is a lost battle, yet some may find themselves on the losing side. Not you my brethren!

So don't let things move you so easily, always remember that you believe in the God who controls all things - He will definitely make it work for your good.

May the Lord keep us and sustain us may we bear the testimony of David: " one after God's heart".

He calls us blessed.

Love
