THE WORD PREVAILED

Acts 19:20 

So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed.

Acts 19:20

So the message about the Lord spread widely and had a powerful effect.

The whole message/essence of Christianity as we are called or believers(children of God) as we are, is the message we carry.

Without the message there is no us. The word of God is the symbol of what we represent and who we are. That is our faith, where we started from, what we are and what we will be.

Romans 10:17

So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ.

We have a lot of issues today because people have left out the essential - "rightly dividing the word of truth" 2Timothy 2:15

When you miss the essence every other thing you build will have faults because the foundation is shaky. For these reason we had Christ's letter to the seven churches in the book of revelation.

Revelation 3:1-6

“Write this letter to the angel of the church in Sardis. This is the message from the one who has the sevenfold Spirit of God and the seven stars:“I know all the things you do, and that you have a reputation for being alive—but you are dead.

Wake up! Strengthen what little remains, for even what is left is almost dead. I find that your actions do not meet the requirements of my God.

Go back to what you heard and believed at first; hold to it firmly. Repent and turn to me again. If you don’t wake up, I will come to you suddenly, as unexpected as a thief.

“Yet there are some in the church in Sardis who have not soiled their clothes with evil. They will walk with me in white, for they are worthy.

All who are victorious will be clothed in white. I will never erase their names from the Book of Life, but I will announce before my Father and his angels that they are mine.

“Anyone with ears to hear must listen to the Spirit and understand what he is saying to the churches.

Without wholesome teaching the church is like a gathering of wrongly brought up/wayward children who are unruly, ungodly and reserved for condemnation or who are not sure of their destination.

However, with the right teachings, admonition and obedience we have heaven ready believers filled with the Holy Spirit already representing Christ on earth.

Hebrews 5:12

You have been believers so long now that you ought to be teaching others. Instead, you need someone to teach you again the basic things about God’s word. You are like babies who need milk and cannot eat solid food.

Listen it was all merry and cheering while Jesus taught the people the principles of living, giving them free food and performing various miracles and healings, however when the deep word came the bible recorded:

John 6:56,60,63,65-69

Anyone who eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in him.

Many of his disciples said, “This is very hard to understand. How can anyone accept it?”

The Spirit alone gives eternal life. Human effort accomplishes nothing. And the very words I have spoken to you are spirit and life.

Then he said, “That is why I said that people can’t come to me unless the Father gives them to me.”

At this point many of his disciples turned away and deserted him.

Then Jesus turned to the Twelve and asked, “Are you also going to leave?”

Simon Peter replied, “Lord, to whom would we go? You have the words that give eternal life.

We believe, and we know you are the Holy One of God.”

Are we breeding Christ disciples, hero worshippers, or mere opportunits?

Are those under you being fed with the bread of life, or are you just giving them junk? What are you being fed with?

The life they live when they go into the world is evidence of what they are fed with.

Is it just about money, the erroneous assumption that the sole ingredient of prosperity is money?

Remember:

1 Corinthians 3:13

But on the judgment day, fire will reveal what kind of work each builder has done. The fire will show if a person’s work has any value.

That is to tell you that the Lord does not take it lightly, the test is FIRE!

So, remember the first person to lead is yourself, how have you led yourself, what are you feeding yourself?

Listen, your prayer, worship, evangelism and all you do will be a function of how much of God's word, you know and understand.

Does the word of God prevail in your life? 

Are you part of those who reveal these word to the world.

2 Corinthians 5:19-20

For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation.

So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!”

Many are doing this work, many are still faithful, are you part of them?

The Lord bless all those who are faithful and strengthen them day after day. The Lord bring those who are not on the right path to the right path.

The Lord has helped us.

He calls us blessed.
