CAN YOU STAND THE SCOFFERS?

2 Peter 3:3-4,17-18

Most importantly, I want to remind you that in the last days scoffers will come, mocking the truth and following their own desires.

They will say, “What happened to the promise that Jesus is coming again? From before the times of our ancestors, everything has remained the same since the world was first created.”

You already know these things, dear friends. So be on guard; then you will not be carried away by the errors of these wicked people and lose your own secure footing.

Rather, you must grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. All glory to him, both now and forever! Amen.

Can you stand the scoffers? They laugh at your belief, do you even know what you believe?

Listen, not all beliefs are true, there can only be one truth. Yes!

Have you tested what you belief or are just following what you heard. I told my fellow youths many years ago (I hope they held on to it), that you cannot talk of maturity until your very faith has been tested, you have even questioned and established your belief.

Yes, how can you introduce a person you don't know to someone else? What will you tell them?

That is why I love Christ's teaching, He is not saying just accept a religion, He doesn't have a religion. He is saying I am coming to dwell with you:

Revelation 3:20

“Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends.

The conversion Christ had with the Samaritan woman is so crucial to our faith, same with that He had with Nicodemus:

John 4:23-26

But the time is coming—indeed it’s here now—when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. The Father is looking for those who will worship him that way.

For God is Spirit, so those who worship him must worship in spirit and in truth.”

The woman said, “I know the Messiah is coming—the one who is called Christ. When he comes, he will explain everything to us.”

Then Jesus told her, “i am the Messiah!”

It goes beyond laws, you become part with God, that you may do what is always pleasing to Him.

John 3:18,21

“There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God’s one and only Son.

But those who do what is right come to the light so others can see that they are doing what God wants.”

He said this of Himself:

John 8:29

And the one who sent me is with me—he has not deserted me. For I always do what pleases him.”

Listen again:

Can you stand the scoffers?

1 Peter 3:15-16

Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your hope as a believer, always be ready to explain it.

But do this in a gentle and respectful way. Keep your conscience clear. Then if people speak against you, they will be ashamed when they see what a good life you live because you belong to Christ.

There will always be scoffers, however, truth cannot change because people believe or do not believe it. However those who have the truth are those who have liberty.

Salvation came from the Jews yet they lost it, the fact that a particular race brought the gospel to your nation does not mean that they hold on to the truth. They could fail but the truth cannot change.

You must know the truth yourself!

2 Timothy 2:15

Work hard so you can present yourself to God and receive his approval. Be a good worker, one who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly explains the word of truth.

Jesus even told those who scoffed at Him:

John 5:39

“You search the Scriptures because you think they give you eternal life. But the Scriptures point to me!

Can you stand the scoffers?

Matthew 5:10-12

God blesses those who are persecuted for doing right, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs.

“God blesses you when people mock you and persecute you and lie about you and say all sorts of evil things against you because you are my followers.

Be happy about it! Be very glad! For a great reward awaits you in heaven. And remember, the ancient prophets were persecuted in the same way.

It is terrible to endure persecution only to find out that you have been holding on to a lie. THERE IS ONLY ONE TRUTH!

John 14:6

Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.

Lord release Your understanding to good hearts.

He calls us blessed.
