BE GRATEFUL TO GOD

Psalms 92:1-2,4

It is good to give thanks to the Lord, to sing praises to the Most High.

It is good to proclaim your unfailing love in the morning, your faithfulness in the evening,

You thrill me, Lord, with all you have done for me! I sing for joy because of what you have done.

When someone is trying to take away your loyalty to your principal, the first question you should ask yourself is, what is their intention?

Listen, you will definitely be loyal to someone or something. What are you replacing the other for?

Adam and Eve of course came into luxury, they didn't work for anything they got, they met an already prepared land they were just to take charge of it. In the long run someone came along to sell to them a freedom.

Genesis 2:8-15

Then the Lord God planted a garden in Eden in the east, and there he placed the man he had made.

The Lord God made all sorts of trees grow up from the ground—trees that were beautiful and that produced delicious fruit. In the middle of the garden he placed the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

A river flowed from the land of Eden, watering the garden and then dividing into four branches.

The first branch, called the Pishon, flowed around the entire land of Havilah, where gold is found.

The gold of that land is exceptionally pure; aromatic resin and onyx stone are also found there.

The second branch, called the Gihon, flowed around the entire land of Cush.

The third branch, called the Tigris, flowed east of the land of Asshur. The fourth branch is called the Euphrates.

The Lord God placed the man in the Garden of Eden to tend and watch over it.

You can see that all was set for man. However, there was one clause:

Genesis 2:16-17

But the Lord God warned him, “You may freely eat the fruit of every tree in the garden—except the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. If you eat its fruit, you are sure to die.”

In all of the good things just one thing was away from him. This is what the enemy tempted her with.

Genesis 3:1,4-5

The serpent was the shrewdest of all the wild animals the Lord God had made. One day he asked the woman, “Did God really say you must not eat the fruit from any of the trees in the garden?”

“You won’t die!” the serpent replied to the woman.

“God knows that your eyes will be opened as soon as you eat it, and you will be like God, knowing both good and evil.”

How can you sell liberty to someone who was already free?

So, we see that man left all the good things to go for that which will rob him of all he was given. Hmm

The question is, are we the same?

Do we remember all the good things the Lord has done for us, or do we leave it aside to go pursue that which it seems, He has not given us from the wrong side?

The solution is gratitude.

When the enemy brings evil alternatives to you, say NO, be reminded of all the good things the Lord has done.

Let us be like Joseph who said:

Genesis 39:9

No one here has more authority than I do. He has held back nothing from me except you, because you are his wife. How could I do such a wicked thing? It would be a great sin against God.”

Ungratefulness will cause anyone to derail, when you are only interested in receiving and receiving but you refuse to give in return then disaster is not far.

There is always a responsibility for every privilege you have, no one is exempted from it. No one was created to be a liability you only willingly make yourself one.

People try to make themselves the victim instead of correcting their mistakes, bad habits and character to become better people that can also help others. Ungratefulness is evil.

WHO EXACTLY OWES YOU ANYTHING?

Let us be grateful:

Psalms 92:4

You thrill me, Lord, with all you have done for me!

I sing for joy because of what you have done.

Every morning the Lord renews His steadfast love towards us, He also renews His mercy. Imagine if He was like man to hold on to our mistakes of yesterday. Come on, we need to give thanks, God is too Good.

Lamentations 3:22-23

The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease.

Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning.

Let us join others to give thanks everyday.

He calls us blessed.

Love
