NO TRUST IN MAN
John 2:24-25
But Jesus didn’t trust them, because he knew all about people.
No one needed to tell him about human nature, for he knew what was in each person’s heart.
How would it be if everyone's thought were visible on their faces as they moved about each day. For many carry a smile on their face but it is a bitter face they carry in their hearts.
Many claim to be loyal and faithful till they are tested with money, then they give all up and betray another.
Many hide under religion, to display their beastiality, animosity and devilish tendencies, for what gives you the right to kill or destroy a being like yourself. What if the other arises and destroys you too, giving another excuse which could still be religion? No one has monopoly over recklessness.
What of those who speak so much of how the government ought to be this or that, and how they want to fight to make things better for the people and make the leadership accountable. These same people get opportunity to sit in sits of power and their true nature is exposed, they become the complainers again never accepting their faults looking for past leaders to blame it on, they display their nature of lies, hypocrisy and make themselves defenders of evil, incompetence, bigotry, religious fanaticism, corruption and mediocrity.
For I always say this:
* Don't tell me how loyal you are till you have faced death and stood in your faithfulness
* Don't tell me how much integrity you have with money till you have been offered billions and you refused and resisted
* Don't tell me how much chastity you have until you have been offered the Joseph's temptation and you fled instead of taking those few moments of pleasure
* Don't tell me how much you are like Daniel to stand for the Lord, until you have been given the opportunity to live in the palace(aso rock, white house, Buckingham palace etc) and you refused to eat the palacial food.
* Don't tell how much you have sacrificed for your faith in God till you have faced the furnace heated seven times over like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego (Hebrew names Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah) and yet refused to bow to the idols and religions of the world . . .
The list goes on, for we could say one thing today and quickly eat our words when situation changes.
So we understand when the bible records concerning Christ:
John 2:24
But Jesus didn’t trust them, because he knew all about people.
Ofcourse He created, so He knows us more than we know ourselves. While we look at the outside the Lord looks at the inside:
1 Samuel 16:7
But the Lord said to Samuel, “Don’t judge by his appearance or height, for I have rejected him. The Lord doesn’t see things the way you see them. People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
Is it that their are no faithful men?
Recall what Jesus said about Nathaniel in our study some days ago:
John 1:47
As they approached, Jesus said, “Now here is a genuine son of Israel—a man of complete integrity.”
So you know the answer.
Lord help me be recognized by You as a faithful. Not following after religion and all the creation of man and other powers. But after your very nature which is LOVE! That love is expressed in You Word, Your Son Yeshua Hamashiac, Jesus the Christ through whom You gave Your life that we can have eternal life.
My trust is in You Lord, so I will be found faithful.
Help us Good Lord.
He calls us blessed
Love
