WHAT TO DO ABOUT THE SACRIFICE OF CHRIST

1 John 2:15,17

Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you.

And this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever.

In all parts of the world people remember today what the Heavenly Father did for the world, He allowed His Son to be sacrificed that all men would be saved.

John 3:16

“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.

The death was for the benefit of all man-kind, it did not bring about a religion, for the Heavenly Father has no religion, He is not limited by human practices, ideology, sentiments or theology neither is He limited by time or space. HE IS GOD!

So, what are we saying, man cannot save Himself, God had to come to save man. What a great testimony. It deserves more than a shout, more than a song, let the whole world know.

For many religions existed before Christ was revealed and many after He was revealed but they were all man-made, for even some tried to hijack the passion of Christ to make it into a religion but glory to God, the liberty in salvation was released.

So, what do we do about this sacrifice?

Since God loved us in the world and saved us, we should also reciprocate that love.

Listen, when the bible talks about the world in John 3:16, it talks of the people that make up the world, not the physical earth as a body or the secular world controlled by sin.

The word "kosmos" used in the original Greek text depends on what context it is used.

In John 3:16, it talks about the humans living in "kosmos" the physical earth, however in 1John 2:15, it is talking of the sinful secular earth.

So to appreciate God's love for us we should love the Heavenly Father in return and not that which is contrary to His will - the sinful world system.

If I appreciate the sacrifice made for me I will not take it for granted, for the sacrifice was to deliver us from sin and death, why then would I entangle myself with sin and death again?

Christ came that we may have life and have it abundantly, but the sinful world system is to bring sin that leads to death. So we choose wisely.

1 John 2:16

For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world.

The three things that made man fall in the beginning is still what will make man fall today:

1. Lust of the eyes;

2. Lust of the flesh;

3. The pride of life.

These three were still the same temptation satan poised to Christ after He completed His fast in the wilderness.

Why should we overcome these three evils, 1John 2:17 explains why:

1 John 2:17

And this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever.

To live forever, you have to overcome the temporary pleasure that will bring destruction. Selah

Remember what Christ said:

John 10:10

The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.

Open your eyes, religion is actually man-made. Salvation is Christ made.

So are you merely celebrating a festival or occasion, remember it is not about a time, a place or a sighting. It is an event that occurred that should prompt our action.

What have you done about the sacrifice of Christ?

The Lord give us more understanding.

He calls us blessed.

Love
