WHAT GOD HAS DONE

1 John 3:1

See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are! But the people who belong to this world don’t recognize that we are God’s children because they don’t know him.

For truly the resurrection of Christ was the accomplishment of God's purpose for man, which is for us to be called His children. For this to happen man had to be freed from the bondage of sin and death, someone had to pay the price, someone had to serve our sentence and someone had to win our battle, this Christ did for us.

John 19:30
When Jesus had tasted it, he said, “It is finished!” Then he bowed his head and released his spirit.

Concerning this exclamation, C H Spurgeon says TETELESTAI(It is finished) conveys:

“an ocean of meaning in a drop of language, a mere drop. It would need all the other words that ever were spoken, or ever can be spoken, to explain this one word. It is altogether immeasurable. It is high; I cannot attain to it. It is deep; I cannot fathom it. IT IS FINISHED is the most charming note in all of Calvary’s music. The fire has passed upon the Lamb. He has borne the whole of the wrath that was due to His people. This is the royal dish of the feast of love

It was a full package paid by Christ on that cross when He gave Himself for all of humanity:

John 1:12
But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.

The world cannot understand it because they refuse to believe and are blinded by the god of this world. No wonder Jesus said:

John 3:3
Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God.”

What else is so important to man but to have eternal dwelling with His maker, that after the life here though with a little persecution, we live everlasting and reign with Christ. Truly no better victory.

1 John 3:2
Dear friends, we are already God’s children, but he has not yet shown us what we will be like when Christ appears. But we do know that we will be like him, for we will see him as he really is.

Glory to God.

Knowing this what should we be doing in preparation for this full revelation:

1 John 3:3
And all who have this eager expectation will keep themselves pure, just as he is pure.

Sin no longer has dominion over you.

Romans 6:6-8,11-12
We know that our old sinful selves were crucified with Christ so that sin might lose its power in our lives. We are no longer slaves to sin.
For when we died with Christ we were set free from the power of sin.
And since we died with Christ, we know we will also live with him.
So you also should consider yourselves to be dead to the power of sin and alive to God through Christ Jesus.
Do not let sin control the way you live; do not give in to sinful desires.

He had given us the victory, we must Not return to bondage.

1 John 3:4-6
Everyone who sins is breaking God’s law, for all sin is contrary to the law of God.
And you know that Jesus came to take away our sins, and there is no sin in him.
Anyone who continues to live in him will not sin. But anyone who keeps on sinning does not know him or understand who he is.

So what should we do? We are to walk in the Spirit:

Galatians 5:16
So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves.

We must appreciate what God has done for us, we must not take it for granted.

So help us Good Lord.

We walk in His righteousness, we live in His victory, we are purified by His Word.

Glory to God forever.

He calls us blessed.

Love
