THE SIMPLICITY OF THE COMMANDMENTS - LOVE

1 John 3:11

This is the message you have heard from the beginning: We should love one another.

If the commandments seemed too complex to understand or too weighty to bear, then one has not seen what it is about. Jesus summarized it thus:

Matthew 22:37-40

Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’

This is the first and greatest commandment.

A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’

The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.”

Thus, any one pushing a different agenda is not on the right track, for the opposite of love is hate, thus hate is compared to murder:

1 John 3:15

Anyone who hates another brother or sister is really a murderer at heart. And you know that murderers don’t have eternal life within them.

So because we love, do we expect that everyone will love us in return? No.

1 John 3:13

So don’t be surprised, dear brothers and sisters, if the world hates you.

For the truth is when you walk in the light those in darkness have an inclination of hating you just as Cain felt towards his brother because his brother walked rightly and was accepted but he walked wrongly and was rejected:

1 John 3:12

We must not be like Cain, who belonged to the evil one and killed his brother. And why did he kill him? Because Cain had been doing what was evil, and his brother had been doing what was righteous.

So we expect that evil will come from an evil person. The problem is when evil begins to come from a supposed good person, then something is wrong. We must not err!

So keeper of the law understand these thing that you will not have an outward show but no inner witness, for as Paul records:

1 Corinthians 13:3

If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it; but if I didn’t love others, I would have gained nothing.

John was so close to Christ in his time here on earth, no wonder he understood his character, it was the character of God Himself, so John proclaims:

1 John 4:7-8

Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God.

But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

Whatever you do child of God, even if you decide to stay in the bondage of the law - don't let your LOVE go cold!

For if you loose love you loose everything.

1 Corinthians 13:13

Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.

Obey God's commandment - LOVE

Are you too occupied following an agenda, sect or practicing religion that you have killed love in your heart, dear one, you need to experience love again - God is love. So if your love is dead, then definitely God is not in you.

1 John 3:14

If we love our brothers and sisters who are believers, it proves that we have passed from death to life. But a person who has no love is still dead.

Are you dead or alive?

Love is the evidence of your life.

Help us Good Lord.

He calls us blessed.

Love
