GROW IN LOVE

1 John 4:17

And as we live in God, our love grows more perfect. So we will not be afraid on the day of judgment, but we can face him with confidence because we live like Jesus here in this world.

What will the Lord be looking out for when He returns?

Remember what the commandments are:

1 John 3:23

And this is his commandment: We must believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as he commanded us.

Firstly, it is our faith in Him, that is if we believe in God, them we must believe in His Son the only way He set for salvation.

Acts 4:11-12

For Jesus is the one referred to in the Scriptures, where it says, 

‘The stone that you builders rejected has now become the cornerstone.’

There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved.”

The next is like the first, we must live the life of God here on earth. What is this life? We recall 1John 4:7 and 1 John 4:16 - God is love!

This Jesus explained when He talked of His return (Matthew 25:31-46):

Matthew 25:31,35,39-40,45-46

“But when the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit upon his glorious throne.

For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home.

When did we ever see you sick or in prison and visit you?’

“And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!’

“And he will answer, ‘I tell you the truth, when you refused to help the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were refusing to help me.’

“And they will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous will go into eternal life.”

In our times it is so difficult to separate those really in need from those who have turned themselves into beggars and fraudsters, lazy ones who come in deceit, those who use emotional blackmail and those who claim entitlements to take away the little you have, we find them here and there.

This is why we do need the Spirit to help us live by the direction of the Heavenly Father that by His urge we can know when to act, to be able to take the right decisions.

(It is better to help even when in doubt, for the Lord sees your heart)

1 John 4:13,16

And God has given us his Spirit as proof that we live in him and he in us.

We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love.God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them.

So, as we grow in the grace and knowledge of God:

2 Peter 3:18

Rather, you must grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.All glory to him, both now and forever! Amen.

We must also grow in love, since God is love:

1 Thessalonians 3:12

And may the Lord make your love for one another and for all people grow and overflow, just as our love for you overflows.

If those who have the opportunity of having this world's good, understand this, they would not take advantage of those who they ought to lead or help, to extort more from them or hijack the common wealth, they instead would have worked to ensure that the common wealth reflect in the lives of all. It is a pity on them for these wicked ones have already been set aside for destruction.

Pastors, ministers, Spiritual leaders, teach your people what love is, let them reflect it in their positions in life, starting from their homes/families to the church, their community, their workplace/business and to the nation as a whole. Listen let us understand that God's commandment is love, yes, love!

This message as simple as it is, is the crux of the matter!
