HIS PROMISES: SPECIAL ATTENTION
Psalms 91:15
When they call on me, I will answer;
I will be with them in trouble.
I will rescue and honor them.
It is often said by some ministers that the only prayer a sinner has is that of salvation. They truly have a reason for that:
John 9:31 (KJV)
Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.
This could be a different discussion entirely.
However we are looking at God's attention to His own, those who accept Him:
John 1:12
But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.
Definitely a child has that special attention of the Father. Thus, every believer should understand that the Lord does not take their prayers for granted.
Psalms 56:8
You keep track of all my sorrows.
You have collected all my tears in your bottle.
You have recorded each one in your book.
Christ emphasized it:
Matthew 7:9-11
“You parents—if your children ask for a loaf of bread, do you give them a stone instead?
Or if they ask for a fish, do you give them a snake? Of course not!
So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him.
John 16:24
You haven’t done this before. Ask, using my name, and you will receive, and you will have abundant joy.
Glory to God.
So we see in verse 15 of Psalm chapter 91 another set of God's promises.
Firstly, He did not say there will be no trouble or challenge, read again:
Psalm 91:15 (KJV)
He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I [will be] with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
. . . I will be with Him in trouble . . .
So trouble or challenges may arise but you will not be alone. The story of Daniel's three friends comes to mind:
Daniel 3:23-26
So Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, securely tied, fell into the roaring flames.
But suddenly, Nebuchadnezzar jumped up in amazement and exclaimed to his advisers, “Didn’t we tie up three men and throw them into the furnace?”“Yes, Your Majesty, we certainly did,” they replied.
“Look!” Nebuchadnezzar shouted. “I see four men, unbound, walking around in the fire unharmed! And the fourth looks like a god!”
Then Nebuchadnezzar came as close as he could to the door of the flaming furnace and shouted: “Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, servants of the Most High God, come out! Come here!”So Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego stepped out of the fire.
Daniel also was actually thrown into the lion's den, but the Lord had His Angels ahead of him:
Daniel 6:22-23
My God sent his angel to shut the lions’ mouths so that they would not hurt me, for I have been found innocent in his sight. And I have not wronged you, Your Majesty.”
The king was overjoyed and ordered that Daniel be lifted from the den. Not a scratch was found on him, for he had trusted in his God.
Look at Psalm 91:15 again. The Lord says:
1. When we call Him He will answer
2. He will be with us in that situation or time of trouble
3. He will rescue us from that trouble
and finally
4. He will honour us!
Glory.
That means our latter situation will be far better than our former. (Job will say "yes, I confirm this".)
Glory
1 Peter 5:10
In his kindness God called you to share in his eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. So after you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation.
For Christ declared:
John 16:33
I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”
The victory is already won.
If you have believed you have the special attention of the Heavenly Father. Don't give up, don't give in, He will never leave you, He will rescue you, then honour you.
Glory to His name forever.
He calls us blessed.
Love
