HIS PROMISES: FOR THOSE WHO LOVE, TRUST AND OBEY HIM

Psalms 91:14

The Lord says, “I will rescue those who love me. I will protect those who trust in my name.

The chorus of the hymn "trust and obey" has the following lyrics:

"Trust and obey, for there's no other way

To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey"

We have been talking about God's promises, that they are fulfilled in Christ Jesus as the scriptures say. The Heavenly Father has the condition for His blessings and it has never changed.

Exodus 20:6

But I lavish unfailing love for a thousand generations on those who love me and obey my commands.

This was the summary of the first part of the commandments from the mouth of the Heavenly Father Himself. The second part had to do with our relationship with others.

Jesus summarized it clearly:

Mark 12:30

And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.’

For without this You cannot be made a member of the family neither do you have access to His promises.

Today we see many who carry the title but do not have the heart. For we must always remember that humans may see you from the outside appearance but the Lord sees the heart.

We humans foolishly make assumptions and conclusions from what we perceive and presume "sometimes we foolishly do without asking, thus, we end up making mistakes and bad judgements". The Lord is not like that, He told prophet Samuel:

1 Samuel 16:7

But the Lord said to Samuel, “Don’t judge by his appearance or height, for I have rejected him. The Lord doesn’t see things the way you see them. People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

So we must be very careful. We cannot move around satisfied with human opinion, we must be sure we are approved by the Heavenly Father Himself.

2 Timothy 2:19

But God’s truth stands firm like a foundation stone with this inscription: “The Lord knows those who are His,” and “All who belong to the Lord must turn away from evil.”

So His promises carries the condition of love, trust and obedience.

The evidence of love is obedience. Selah

John 14:15

“If you love me, obey my commandments.

You canNOT just say or sing "I love the Lord", more than that, your obedience to Him daily must show it. For it ought Not to be of compulsion, (that is where religion looses it) but out of love.

Do you love the Lord?

Help us Good Lord.

He calls us blessed.

Love
