HIS PROMISES: CHOOSING HIM

Psalms 91:9

If you make the Lord your refuge, if you make the Most High your shelter,

The question always arises of what man's part is, in his own salvation. Does man play any part or is it entirely a God thing?

To answer this we need to have an understanding of who man is. The man created by God was made in God's image and carry the attributes of God Himself, however, limited to the earth:

Genesis 1:26-27

Then God said, “Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us. They will reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock, all the wild animals on the earth, and the small animals that scurry along the ground.”

So God created human beings in his own image.

In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.

Thus man was not a robot, but a being with the power to make decisions.

Genesis 2:19-20b

So the Lord God formed from the ground all the wild animals and all the birds of the sky. He brought them to the man to see what he would call them, and the man chose a name for each one.

He gave names to all the livestock, all the birds of the sky, and all the wild animals. . .

So man had the power of choice. As I have said in previous writings, this power could be a blessing or could be a stumbling block.

For you could have the power of choice, but you have no power over the consequences. Selah

So man has the choice to choose whom to submit to. Submitting to your creator or to something else, this has always been man's problem. That is the genesis of disobedience or rebellion.

Joshua 24:15a

But if you refuse to serve the Lord, then choose today whom you will serve.

So dear one it is in your hands, and it has always been.

Christ came to make it possible not just in the flesh but in the Spirit. God revealed to man that the law, religion or man cannot stop anyone from coming to Him:

John 1:12

But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.

For Christ is the Father revealed, He is from the Father, part of Him. So when you glorify Christ you are actually glorifying the Heavenly Father:

John 12:44-45

Jesus shouted to the crowds, “If you trust me, you are trusting not only me, but also God who sent me.

For when you see me, you are seeing the one who sent me.

John 10:30

The Father and I are one.”

So when the verse says:

Psalm 91:9

Because thou hast made the LORD, [which is] my refuge, [even] the most High, thy habitation;

It is implies that it is up to you to walk with the Lord.

Joel 2:32a

But everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved,

Romans 10:13

For “Everyone who calls on the name of the lord will be saved.”

And when we do, all His promises are available to us.

(Tell someone this truth today)

Glory to the Heavenly Father forever and ever.

He calls us blessed.
