ESCAPE

2 Peter 1:4

And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and ESCAPE the world’s corruption caused by human desires.

In our journey here on earth, we will of course encounter various challenges, temptations and trials which are meant to test us, bring us down or prove us.

Paul teaches us that the Lord always has a way of escape for us:

1 Corinthians 10:13

The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.

No wonder we call Him the "WAY MAKER".

The greatest escape was from the power of sin and death, which price Christ paid for by giving His life, this is the most important escape route that we should announce to the whole world.

Then Jesus said:

John 16:33

I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”

When you are passing through difficulties you come to the Lord who helps us, looking out for His escape route.

Psalms 30:5b

Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning.

It is important to have an open ear to listen to the voice of the Lord, sometimes we are too noisy and too loud, that we miss the still small voice. Sometimes we are looking for imaginary enemies, who to blame or just feeling sorry for ourselves that we miss the escape route.

Listen, no challenge that comes to the believer is a waste of time, no it makes us stronger and proves our faith. Joseph will tell you this.

There are temptations that come our way of which the escape route are already clear to us, we don't need a special instruction for it, we flee!

Part of our past could also raise a ugly head, we escape also, we let it go for we don't need that heavy luggage for the journey ahead of us.

There are associations we also need to escape from literally, in our imagination, or virtually. You know them, they lead you to sin, cause you pain or cut you away from the Heavenly Father, escape from them.

That is what Christ meant, when He said:

Matthew 5:30

And if your hand—even your stronger hand—causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.

What do you need to escape from today? Joseph did not mind loosing his cloak, he ran.

What do you need to ESCAPE from today?

Remember there is something no one can escape from, that is the day of reckoning, that is why we call on all to repent. That is why we also call on all to receive the salvation from the judge Himself.

There are things which are wrong being done today in the name of the Lord, their judgement is coming don't be part of them.

We will succeed.
