THE REASON YOU HAVE IT
Psalms 41:1-3
Oh, the joys of those who are kind to the poor!
The Lord rescues them when they are in trouble.
The Lord protects them and keeps them alive.
He gives them prosperity in the land and rescues them from their enemies.
The Lord nurses them when they are sick and restores them to health.
This morning we look at an issue that needs to be talked about. "Why should you have it?"
I have always emphasized that the reason you have that gift is to use it for the blessing of others.
Let us take a simple example of our Lord Himself:
Acts 10:38
And you know that God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. Then Jesus went around doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.
You have no business having those goodies if it is to store them in a place, when we have so many who have need. We must understand this, we are NOT talking of your savings, your little investments, neither your capital for business or wages for your workers. We are talking of your gift, wealth, anointing, talent etc that are just your pride and are not put into use to bless lives.
Jesus had anointing with the Spirit and power, we do not see Him going about boasting of His status, oppressing people or making unnecessary challenges and threats (as we see some so called preacher, minister, pastor or whatever title do today).
No! Christ went about DOING GOOD.
So what is the essence of the blessings of the Lord in your life? Do you know some are so blinded that they don't even bless their immediate family with it?
The teachers of the word need to wake up to start teaching people the right thing.
Let us listen to one common example of tithing:
Malachi 3:10
Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so there will be enough food in my Temple. If you do,” says the lord of Heaven’s Armies, “I will open the windows of heaven for you. I will pour out a blessing so great you won’t have enough room to take it in! Try it! Put me to the test!
Hello, when was the last time someone was hungry or in dire need and walked into a so called tithe ministering place of worship and found help, even food to eat?
No wonder Christ on tithes said:
Luke 11:42
“What sorrow awaits you Pharisees! For you are careful to tithe even the tiniest income from your herb gardens, but you ignore justice and the love of God. You should tithe, yes, but do not neglect the more important things.
Understand that things are given for a purpose, our Heavenly Father is the greatest investor.
Hear:
*Why should the Lord bless you with wealth, when you don't know how to give and help the needy?
* Why should the Lord bless you with wisdom, when you are filled with pride and find it hard to teach humbly and give counsel emphatically?
* Why should the Lord give you the power to heal, when you don't have the compassion for those who are sick?
* Why should the Lord make you the leader when you do not have great love for that group?
The questions are innumerable.
See, check those prayer points of yours. Selah!
Let us understand today that every blessing of the Lord is for profit, it must bear fruit.
Listen your life after here is a function of the life you live here.
Listen again:
Please read Mathew 25:14-30 quietly, read again and again! It is one of the criteria for eternal Bliss.
See the last two verses:
Matthew 25:29-30
To those who use well what they are given, even more will be given, and they will have an abundance. But from those who do nothing, even what little they have will be taken away.
Now throw this useless servant into outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’
Listen and take action.
We will be found worthy, we will use our gifts and blessings well, we will NOT fail, fall or falter.
Our testimony will be:
Matthew 25:21
“The master was full of praise. ‘Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let’s celebrate together!’
So help us Good Lord.
He calls us blessed.
Love
