THE CELEBRATION

Luke 2:10-11

but the angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people.

The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David!.

Today there is an argument about the celebration of Christmas, some say it is a pagan worship others say that it was never celebrated by Christ or His disciples. The arguments continue that He was not born on the 25th of December, that that date stands for the birthday of a deity etc.

These arguments are not new, some sects have stood against this celebration many years earlier.

Hello, I do not think anyone knows the exact day the Messiah was born as a child into this world, furthermore no one has His picture or a sketch of Him. (Those still using pictures and sketches of Him - be reminded that what You have is not of Him). However was there celebration on the day He was born? YES.

Luke 2:9,13-14

Suddenly, an angel of the Lord appeared among them, and the radiance of the Lord’s glory surrounded them. They were terrified,

Suddenly, the angel was joined by a vast host of others—the armies of heaven—praising God and saying,

“Glory to God in highest heaven, and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased.”

Think about it, those who were being saved had no clue what was going on, if they did all humans would rejoice to see the birth of their saviour.

The people who ought to have been the guardian of the scriptures where the prophesies were recorded were busy with irrelevant things, it took wise men from the east to spot the star to trace the place of His birth.

The same way it will be when He returns again, listen to Jesus:

Matthew 24:46,50

If the master returns and finds that the servant has done a good job, there will be a reward.

The master will return unannounced and unexpected,

Listen, it is not about the eating and drinking or any form of partying, it is not a time to misbehave but a time to give God thanks for His salvation and to take the good news to those who haven't heard.

We should be the "watchers", as the shepherd watched their flocks that night, we should always be alert, never caught drunk, instead we should be filled with the Spirit.

That event changed the cause of history, it was like the creation story repeated over again.

Is it worth celebrating? More importantly, have you taken full advantage of this great love and mercy or are you living in denial?

Come to Him today!

Walk with Him.

So help us Good Lord.

He calls us blessed.

Love

@the watcher
