STAYING ON THE RIGHTEOUS SIDE

Psalms 1:1-6

Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers.

But they delight in the law of the Lord, meditating on it day and night.

They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. 

Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do.

But not the wicked! 

They are like worthless chaff, scattered by the wind.

They will be condemned at the time of judgment. 

Sinners will have no place among the godly.

For the Lord watches over the path of the godly, but the path of the wicked leads to destruction.

A very difficult stand for humans in our world today is to walk in the path of righteousness. We feel that if we maintain the right path, we will be cheated, taken advantage of, mocked/called names and that we will look foolish in the eyes of people.

Hmm, it is really an abnormally to think this way, that is why man needs help. Sin has put man in a death position thus carnal man craves for what is not right.

Listen to Jesus:

Matthew 5:10

God blesses those who are persecuted for doing right, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs.

Please read that popular verse again, do read it one more time. Do you know the weight of that statement? Does it correlate with your opinion or principle?

Now you will have a glimpse of the meaning of this verse Paul wrote by the Spirit:

Romans 12:2

Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.

An former American president once made light the teaching of Christ on revenge when he was in power:

Matthew 5:38-40

“You have heard the law that says the punishment must match the injury: ‘An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth.’

But I say, do not resist an evil person! If someone slaps you on the right cheek, offer the other cheek also.

If you are sued in court and your shirt is taken from you, give your coat, too.

He said there is no way the country will run on those types of laws. Fast forward few years after, millons of dollars were wasted on wars that were never won and troops have been withdrawn, yet the enemy has control over those territories, he even regretted the action taken against an African country, it left a once prosperous nation in a terrible state up till the point of writing this devotional.

What he forgot was that even the American constitution was greatly impacted by bible principles!

The path of the righteous is the path of the Lord, you cannot miss it. One key thing is following instructions and that is where the Holy Spirit helps us day after day.

Never get to the point when you declare that you will no longer walk that part - it is a sure decision of regret.

Never think the wicked are better off, NO, not all is what it seems.

Finally, understand that it is easier to say it than to be/do it.

So Dear Father help us to walk in Your path, we have tested a little of the other side, we don't want it, Your way is okay for us.

Help us Good Lord.

He calls us blessed.
