KNOW HIM YOURSELF

Proverbs 2:1-5

My child, listen to what I say, and treasure my commands.

Tune your ears to wisdom, and concentrate on understanding.

Cry out for insight, and ask for understanding.

Search for them as you would for silver; seek them like hidden treasures.

Then you will understand what it means to fear the Lord, and you will gain knowledge of God.

One of the reasons the religious leaders at the time Christ walked the earth hated him was because he made them understand that they did not know God!

It wasn't pleasant to them that one came to show them the real person of the Heavenly Father, it seemed as if He took the spotlight away from them, reducing their prestige in the midst of the people.

For about twenty times, the gospels records Christ calling out "Woe unto you . . ." in reference to the religious leaders at that time:

Luke 11:43

Woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye love the uppermost seats in the synagogues, and greetings in the markets.

Though they didn't like it, it was the truth!

For even the prophets and father's of old did not have a clear picture of who the Heavenly Father was. Listen, the law did not give any revelation of who the Heavenly Father was but His nature was shown to those who read without the veil. Those who got a glimpse of His glory where those who walked by Faith. Selah

Do we know Him today?

Yes.

How?

By the revelation of Christ Jesus.

John 1:17-18

For the law was given through Moses, but God’s unfailing love and faithfulness came through Jesus Christ.

No one has ever seen God. But the unique One, who is himself God, is near to the Father’s heart. He has revealed God to us.

The nature of the Heavenly Father is love. Do you know that even the law showed this, howbeit, the people that followed the law had veil over their eyes. They could not see it's clear features.

This is even so up till today, as Paul wrote by the Spirit:

2 Corinthians 3:13-14

We are not like Moses, who put a veil over his face so the people of Israel would not see the glory, even though it was destined to fade away.

But the people’s minds were hardened, and to this day whenever the old covenant is being read, the same veil covers their minds so they cannot understand the truth. And this veil can be removed only by believing in Christ.

So the veil is removed when we come to Christ Jesus, that is why John recorded:

John 1:4-5

The Word gave life to everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone.

The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.

Christ is the light through which we can see the Heavenly Father and it shines brighter and brighter as we fix our eyes on Him.

So do you know the Heavenly Father or are just legalistic?

Are you under the influence of man, religion or other sentiments full of arguments boasting and all forms of self righteousness. Have you derailed from the word of God to follow the doctrine of men or you never had it?

Read scriptures yourself, have your personal relationship with your Heavenly Father, remember that our great Fathers of old found themselves in the midst of those who did not know or serve God, yet they sought for Him.

KNOW THE LORD YOURSELF.

Thus we pray as Peter and Paul prayed:

2 Peter 3:18

Rather, you must grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. All glory to him, both now and forever! Amen.

Ephesians 1:17

asking God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom and insight so that you might grow in your knowledge of God.

So help us Good Lord.

He calls us blessed.

Love
