REACH OUT
1 Peter 2:9
But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.
2Corinthians 9:8
And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, have an abundance for every good work.
2Corinthians 8:2
that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded in the riches of their liberality.
It is easy to reach out when all is well with you. In multitude of wealth to give a little.(although some still find it hard to give). God never ignores those who know how to give. They are the ones useful in God's hands, they attracted prophets of old and were the ones who gave them shelter, God made sure they had supply.
However, the true test of giving is when you give out of the little you have.
I remember the event in scriptures when many gave, yet Jesus recognized only the widow who gave so little but it was all she had.
Mark 12:42-44
Then one poor widow came and threw in two mites, which make a quadrans.
So He called His disciples to Him and said to them, "Assuredly, I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all those who have given to the treasury;
"for they all put in out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty put in all that she had, her whole livelihood."
I have come to understand that there is no human who has nothing to offer.
No matter your situation, you are a solution to someone, just the same way someone else is a solution to you.
We ought to see ourselves as the solution not a problem.
Acts 20:35
"I have shown you in every way, by laboring like this, that you must support the weak. And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.' "
Stop being the one reached out to all the time reach out to others.
Matthew 5:14
"You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.
Matthew 5:13
"You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled under foot by men.
YOU HAVE SOMETHING GOOD TO OFFER.
Listen, this season is a very good opportunity to reach out to people, according to your capacity, that are in need.
See, reading Christ parables about the life after here in Matthew 25, we see that those He was looking out for where NOT those who made lots of noise, displayed talents or gifts of the Spirit but people who reached out to others in need to bless them expecting nothing in return.
Matthew 25:37-40
“Then these righteous ones will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry and feed you? Or thirsty and give you something to drink?
Or a stranger and show you hospitality? Or naked and give you clothing?
When did we ever see you sick or in prison and visit you?’
“And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!’
Let our prayer be:
Father thank you because I am the answer to someone's prayer.
And if you are, act and live that way. No believer is a beggar, but we mutually support one another. Just like the parts of a human body.
As we end this year know that you have every reason to be grateful to God, show it by reaching out to someone in need.
So help us Good Lord.
He calls us blessed.
Love
