PRAY
Luke 18:1
And he spake a parable unto them [to this end], that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;
1Thessalonians 5:17
pray without ceasing,
Prayer is simply seeking the Father's face it involves making requests. Matured believers make it a communication and not a monologue.
One thing is sure about prayer in all forms as stated in the scripture, is that it must be consistent and never ceasing.
Daniel 6:10b
. . . he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days.
Great men of old had the custom of praying consistently, from Abraham to John the Baptist, this was so even till the resurrection of Jesus and continued when the Holy Spirit came down on Pentecost.
Prayers are of many types and forms but the most important part is when you have discussions with God.
A child cannot but communicate with the father.
In times of old, we see children of God arise and pray to bring the hand of God into situations, an example is the time of Esther when the Jews were threatened with extinction. The new testament records examples of believers coming together to pray for deliverance of the apostles who were persecuted and arrested.
Every nation is empowered to change things for their nation when they arise and pray, so also communities, families, churches and even organizations.
God expects that we pray!
John 16:24
Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.
There are times and seasons of persecution and war, the enemy does have an agenda and a strategy. We also must be alert to know when to arise in defence and also when to war. We must not be ignorant or complacent. We are the victors, we are more than conquerors. Thus we war to win, and we always do because the battle has already been won by our Lord.
As we go on this year may the Lord keep us and our own from evil. I decree that the sting of death will not stay in our midst.
However, no matter how busy you are, do make time to talk with the Father.
It is well.
He calls us blessed.
