ALWAYS GIVE THANKS

Ephesians 5:20

And give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.


We are counting down to the end of the year, many plans are coming our way, we look at what we have achieved and those we are yet to achieve, we prepare to make our score card, there are plans for the coming year. However in all of this remember to GIVE THANKS.


Giving God thanks is sure important and all through scriptures we see God's people giving Him thanks again and again. Wise people understand that we cannot take appreciation for granted.


1Thessalonians 5:18

"in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."


We know there are times when we may not feel like giving thanks, we may feel overwhelmed by one issue or the other. It may be that we are still expecting one thing or the other from God, however we must remember that the reason why we worry is because we are alive and healthy in the first place. So we give thanks. 


He got you through that, He will get you through this. Selah


One major reason we need to thank God is that we know Him, through the only way He has provided for man to return to Him:


John 14:6

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.


Do you know that many still struggle with this truth and thus cannot enjoy full fellowship with the Father?


If you have Jesus you have everything.


Before anything else daily my friend, give thanks.


Romans 8:32

"He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?"


So the God who did other things for you would yet perfect that which you wait on Him for, you can only see to an extent, but He has seen beyond the future and He knows the best for you. Give Him thanks, He is worthy.


See it is easy to dwell on what you are expecting, or desiring what others have, hello, think back on yourself, even this year alone can't you see how the Lord has helped you, kept you, provided for you, brought you out of that difficult situation? Come on, let us give Him thanks.


See Jesus emphasized giving thanks He knew what it meant and how it partakes in the completeness of a miracle, listen:


Luke 17:17-19

Jesus asked, “Didn’t I heal ten men? Where are the other nine?

Has no one returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?”

And Jesus said to the man, “Stand up and go. Your faith has healed you.”


See if you must have anything, let it be a grateful heart and not an ungrateful one. 


Are we also ungrateful to our fellow humans, do you go about with an entitlement mentality? It is not a good nature, learn to appreciate, no one owns you anything. If you didn't work for it, then understand it is a gift be grateful.


So help us Good Lord.


He calls us blessed.

Remember: God is in control.

As we go through the 11th month of this year of accomplishment, let us be reminded. When it seems to hurt so much, or it all looks quiet and alone, when it appears not to work out.
