Wisdom in Money
Proverbs 15:16-17
Better to have little, with fear for the Lord, than to have great treasure and inner turmoil.
A bowl of vegetables with someone you love is better than steak with someone you hate.
Proverbs 15:16 (the message)
A simple life in the Fear-of-God is better than a rich life with a ton of headaches.
Proverbs chapter 15 is attributed to Solomon whom we know was the wisest and richest man to live on earth, a privilege God Himself gave to Him.
When we listen to most of his writings we wonder why people have such a record and yet keep making mistakes.
Listen:
Proverbs 1:3(the message)
A manual for living, for learning what's right and just and fair;
To teach the inexperienced the ropes and give our young people a grasp on reality.
There's something here also for seasoned men and women,
still a thing or two for the experienced to learn - Fresh wisdom to probe and penetrate, the rhymes and reasons of wise men and women. Start with God
Then he went on to say:
Proverbs 1:7 (the message)
Start with God - the first step in learning is bowing down to God; only fools thumb their noses at such wisdom and learning.
How can so much wisdom be available and yet people keep falling into the pit.
When Christ came He said: "a greater than Solomon is here!"
Matthew 12:42
The queen of Sheba will also stand up against this generation on judgment day and condemn it, for she came from a distant land to hear the wisdom of Solomon. Now someone greater than Solomon is here—but you refuse to listen.
Yes of course we know that Christ is above all, for all scriptures talk about Christ even the book of Proverbs, everything was centred on Him.
For let me remind us that scriptures' true meaning and power is only found in Christ Jesus. Hello believer, Christ is your wisdom. He is our everything.
1 Corinthians 1:30-31
God has united you with Christ Jesus. For our benefit God made him to be wisdom itself. Christ made us right with God; he made us pure and holy, and he freed us from sin.
Therefore, as the Scriptures say, “If you want to boast, boast only about the Lord.”
So when we read that it is better to have little, or leave a simple life with the fear of God than to have so much with so much turmoil/headaches scriptures is really teaching us Good.
For I remember a song by the late Notorious BIG, that had a line saying:
"the more money we come across the more problems we see"
They learnt this the hard way!
Let us look at scriptures in the new testament:
Matthew 19:24
I’ll say it again—it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the Kingdom of God!”
1 Timothy 6:9-10
But people who long to be rich fall into temptation and are trapped by many foolish and harmful desires that plunge them into ruin and destruction.
For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. And some people, craving money, have wandered from the true faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows.
Now let us get this straight. Being rich is not having your needs met, hello:
1 Timothy 6:8
So if we have enough food and clothing, let us be content.
For if you cannot meet the needs of your family you already err.
The problem is excess money that has no purpose. Look at those who loot the common wealth, they have no use for these "moneys", it is just greed and wickedness, they never get to spend it. It is just a great level of foolishness.
They are no different from anyone who steals, hurt others cheat others or do other evils just to get money.
Wisdom teaches you that the real treasure you have is the one that the heaven records for you.
Listen:
Matthew 19:21
Jesus told him, “If you want to be perfect, go and sell all your possessions and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”
Listen "give to the poor", "then you have treasure in heaven" . . .
A respected man of God said if you do this without tithing you will become the needy, I replied that it is not true, for as you see in this verse it is a direct contradiction to what Christ teaches.
Church leaders be careful what you teach from the pulpit: the love of money as we hear from Paul is dangerous!
Nowadays we have so called "man of God", who decree angels to send money alerts to member on their phones", this is utter madness. God is not a magician and He is not the author of confusion or disorder, he will not give you questionable wealth that will make you liable to the law. What is wrong with people.
I asked some of these gullible people whom I encountered online: "Why do you think Christ refused to turn stone to bread?", one of them referred me to Matthew 17:27. I explained to them that this was not magic, but knowledge, Christ knew where the silver coin will be.
Many don't even understand the ministry of angels. Hmm
Money has derailed so many, it blinds the eye to the truth and when it has had it's full grip, the victim can do anything to stay high.
I tell those who listen, that Christ compared God to only one thing on earth - MONEY
Matthew 6:24 (the message)
"You can't worship two gods at once. Loving one god, you'll end up hating the other. Adoration of one feeds contempt for the other. You can't worship God and Money both.
So as we listen to wisdom, let us be warned, for what can a man give in exchange for his soul?
Where really is your investment? Just here on earth or have you insured your eternity?
May we in wisdom be triumphant at the end of all things, may we not be carried away by the cares of this world to have alligence with another master, no other Father, no other Lord but He who is the creator of Heaven and earth who is revealed in His Son, the very Word, Jesus the Christ.
Hello, on this matter of wealth, listen. Money/wealth is a responsibility, the more you have the more you have to take care of. Listen:
Luke 12:48
But someone who does not know, and then does something wrong, will be punished only lightly. When someone has been given much, much will be required in return; and when someone has been entrusted with much, even more will be required.
What you have is for the glory of God, we learn from the parable of the rich fool, we are rich towards God. Luke 12:16-21
May we walk in wisdom.
So help us Good Lord.
We will not err.
He calls us blessed.
Love
