TIME FOR COMFORT

 1Thessalonians 4:18

Therefore comfort one another with these words.

At this time it looks as if many are passing away, this very year I laid my father to rest. Many have died from crises, religious, political, wickedness of fellow humans,  some from the pandemic others from divers epidemic in the country and around the world. We need comfort and healing for any grieving heart.

No one wants to lose a loved one and of course no one wants to go. Yet we know that we will not all go at the same time, some will go before and some after.

We need to look at what happens. We are spirit made by God possessing a soul and live in a body. When we leave the body we are seen as leaving earth, our spirit returns to God and our soul awaits judgement either for eternal bliss or eternal misery.

Man = spirit + soul + body

Micah 6:7
Will the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams or ten thousand rivers of oil? Shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?

Isaiah 10:18
And it will consume the glory of his forest and of his fruitful field, both soul and body; and they will be as when a sick man wastes away.

Psalms 31:9
Have mercy on me, O LORD, for I am in trouble; My eye wastes away with grief, Yes, my soul and my body!

Though some faiths believe that the wicked just get destroyed but of course this is not true.

Our dreams at night gives us a perfect example of how this works.

So the corruptible body must give way for the incorruptible body whether we leave before His second coming or we are alive when He returns. The bible says the dead in Christ will rise first.

1Corinthians 15:52-53
in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

So when a believer dies it is not hopelessness but that person has gone ahead of us and has found rest, we will all yet be there.

Death thus becomes useless, because his work is finished he has no other hold on that person. Christ gave us full victory when He died and arose.

 1Corinthians 15:55-56
"O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory?"
The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law.

The pain is that we don't want to lose our younger ones, we want longer life, yet the Lord has His timing for everyone and of course mercy and grace still come into play.

1Thessalonians 4:13
But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope.

Our desire is to live long here on earth and afterwards leave with a good report leaving people behind who we have blessed and who would continue our good work.

God said He would grant us this.

Psalms 91:16
With long life I will satisfy him, And show him My salvation

He still has the say, He knows what is best.

So, make the most of the grace to be alive, don't go about seeking contentions, hatred, jealousy, wickedness, malice or looking for the downfall of others. Those who loot the common resources are the biggest fools of the time for they do not learn from those before them - "they never get to enjoy it". Worse still, they have no clue what their generation will do with it, it could even destroy them.

Do you have any grieving around you, be the comfort to them. Are you grieving? Be comforted, for you have been given grace to fulfil that which is still to be done.

May we receive the grace to live long and more importantly to have a good report with God and man.

May we not waste opportunities to do well and to do good. May we live a God fulfilled life.

The peace of the Lord be always with you.

He calls us blessed.

Love
@ the watcher.
