THE COMING OF THE LORD - be reminded

Matthew 24:36

"But of that day and hour no one knows, no, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.

One major event every believer longs for, is the second coming of the Lord. It leads to the time when all the troubles and problems of these world will come to an end and we have a new heaven and a new earth. This event will affect every being believer or not!

2Peter 3:13
Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.

Revelation 21:1
And I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea.

No more:
* tears and sufferings
* struggling to get money
* resisting temptations
* battling in prayers and fasting
* work, work and work
* facing a contradiction of sinners
* sicknesses or disease
* wars and conflicts
* evil leaders
* hatred and malice
* religion (religion is man-made)
* tribalism and racism
* wickedness of man
* oppression and suppression

We revert to the man God created in the beginning, even to a greater man.

As we wait for this time the world system keeps running and wars and rumours of war keeps taking place. We could get carried away and think that the coming would happen immediately but Jesus said that the wars does not mean the return is immediate.

Think back at world war 1 and world war 2 or even the Biafran war and other wars in various countries through the times. I guess most people living at that time would have thought that the return would take place the next day!

*We must not forget that when a man dies, the return has already taken place for him. Selah*

Hebrews 9:27
And just as each person is destined to die once and after that comes judgment,

We do not need to wait till when it happens before we awake and do what we ought to be doing - reaching out to the lost and fulfilling our purpose.

Whether our Lord returns this year(or day) or the next, He must find us doing what He has called us to do.

Matthew 24:46
"Blessed is that servant whom his master, when he comes, will find so doing.

So Christ is not expecting you to be idle when He returns - NO!

John 5:17
But Jesus replied, “My Father is always working, and so am I.”

Many believe that the *rapture* would take place before the revelation of the man of sin " the anti-christ but . . .

Matthew 24:22
 "And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elects' sake those days will be shortened

The duty of the believer is to stay faithful and work the work. Making most of the time and leading others to salvation. Don't fall for all the gimmicks, philosophies and arguments of the ignorant or even the intellectuals.

Many will still not believe in the return, even some who worship in church:

2Peter 3:3-4, 8-9
 knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts,
 and saying, "Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation."
But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

Our duty is to be busy about our business(spiritual and earthy) and also to watch and pray.

Hebrews 13:21
make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.

So let us remember that some were born into places of war and have lived therein most of their lives.

We who are free from these, should know that we have no excuse!

I see us awakened, working for the Lord and fulfilling all good works.

We will not be found wanting.

May the Lord keep our nation and its people.

The gates of hell will not prevail against the church.

He calls us blessed.

Love
