DO STILL SEE?

Colossians 3:2 

Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.


Habakkuk 2:3

For the vision is yet for an appointed time; but at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, it will not tarry.


Just like one who just got a new job, or admission to study, it may have been easy when we first believed to visualize the promises. We reach out with zeal, loving God seeking to do exploits. That is before we begin to face the challenges and distractions on the journey.


Just as Jesus said:


John 3:3

Jesus answered and said to him, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."


When we become born again we see God's kingdom, our spirit man is reborn we count the flesh as nothing.

Then time passes by, we are in the world, all its distractions, temptations, responsibilities, challenges and so on, begin to reveal themselves.


The question then is:


* Can we still see heaven? John 3:3

* Are we still zealous? John 2:17

* Are we continuing in those things? Acts 2:42

* Are we walking in love? 1John 4:7

* Are we hungered to be where He is? John 14:3


or


Has the cares and worries of life and service taking away the very root of our salvation?


The reason Habakkuk was asked to write it down was for us not to forget but to read it continually that we might run with it.


Hebrews 4:12

For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.


Listen brethren, at the new birth He gave us His Spirit, the question is: have we been conscious of Him or have we allowed the flesh to thrive?


This morning may we awake to that first impulse of when we first believed.


May our experience and maturity not take us out, but bring us closer, refreshing us and increasing our love for God.


We will fulfil purpose.


In all our getting and achievements, we would not loose the essential, but increase in faithfulness.


So help us Good Lord.


He calls you blessed, thus stay blessed.

Remember: God is in control.

As we go through the 11th month of this year of accomplishment, let us be reminded. When it seems to hurt so much, or it all looks quiet and alone, when it appears not to work out.
