BE LIKE YOUR FATHER

John 20:17 b

Jesus said to her, . . . but go to My brethren and say to them, 'I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God.' "


Children emulate the doings and workings of their father.

We became children of God by adoption after Jesus paid the price.


John 1:12

But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.


Ephesians 1:5

God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure.


If we are His, we must live like "His".


Jesus said:


John 5:19

Then Jesus answered and said to them, "Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner.


Matthew 5:45

"that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.


Galatians 4:6

And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, "Abba, Father!"


If we are God's children our actions and lifestyle must show of whom we are. So we should:


* Spend time in the Spirit, your Father is Spirit therefore worship Him in the Spirit.


* Spend time in the Word, He has spoken through the prophets, He spoke through His Son, and now He speaks through His Spirit the same things which Christ speaks. Hebrews 1:1-4.


* Work consciously in the knowledge of who you are in Jesus the Christ


* Exhibit the fruits of the Spirit. Galatians 5:22-23


Matthew 7:20

"Therefore by their fruits you will know them.


People who meet us should feel they have come in contact with the Father, since He lives in us in the person of the Holy Spirit.


May our actions and works express the presence of God. Don't let the action or inaction of others make you fail. You belong to Christ, thus you ought to be different and separated. So help us Good Lord.


All is well with us.


He calls us blessed.

Remember: God is in control.

As we go through the 11th month of this year of accomplishment, let us be reminded. When it seems to hurt so much, or it all looks quiet and alone, when it appears not to work out. Please don't give up, God is still in control Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
