A HEART OF WORSHIP

Ephesians 5:19

Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;

Psalms 30:4

Sing praise to the LORD, You saints of His, And give thanks at the remembrance of His holy name.

Singing is an activity that gives an atmosphere of joy to any person. It most times denotes happiness, that the mind is merry.

James 5:13b
Are any of you happy? You should sing praises.

Every believer ought to practice singing praise to God. In it we confess who He is and what He has done.

One of the first entry of singing praises to God was that which Moses, Miriam and the whole of Israel sang, when the Lord used Moses to give Israel victory from the hand of Pharaoh.

Exodus 15:1 & 21
Then Moses and the children of Israel sang this song to the LORD, and spoke, saying: "I will sing to the LORD, for He has triumphed gloriously! The horse and its rider He has thrown into the sea!
 And Miriam answered them: "Sing to the LORD, for He has triumphed gloriously! The horse and its rider He has thrown into the sea!"

Songs abound everywhere, different languages, various lyrics and different styles. For the believer we could separate: the secular and the spiritual.

We know that music itself is spiritual, we of course, need to be careful what we sing. However it is the meaning you put in a song that will define what it connotes or stands for.

In all, no matter what we sing and for what reason, we must be able to have enough time to sing in worship and thanksgiving to God. A grateful heart is one filled with joy and is qualified to receive more. Have a heart of worship.

If you have gone quiet, it is time to awaken your singing in worship to God in hymns and spiritual songs.

Not in noise making or becoming a nuisance to others but in organized melody, decent, honourable and pleasing to God.

Colossians 3:16
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

The heart is the soul of the music!

What is the condition of your heart. Do you continually detox? For many a heart have allowed so much garbage(envy, jealousy, hatred, bad wishes, demon chasing, greed, unhealthy competitions etc) that even angels don't want to be around them, thus they attract something else.

Let us remember:

Colossians 3:17
And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

So build a heart of worship, where evil cannot be, for the light drives off the darkness. Start this morning.

He calls us blessed.

Remember: God is in control.

As we go through the 11th month of this year of accomplishment, let us be reminded. When it seems to hurt so much, or it all looks quiet and alone, when it appears not to work out.
