TIME OUT

As we end this month today it is wise to remind ourselves that we do need time to rest.

After a stressfull day or week, after a series of challenges or it could even be after a glorious time in His presence, maybe even for days and weeks and maybe with fasting. It may even be after a spiritual battle. There is an urge to unwind.

Even our Lord was tired when He was walking the earth as man:

John 4:6

Jacob’s well was there; and Jesus, tired from the long walk, sat wearily beside the well about noontime.

Remember also that after the long fast He was also hungry:

Matthew 4:2

And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry.

It is normal for us to get tired or want to unwind, we are human, thus we have an earthy body.

The body may begin to look for an outing, a time to unwind, or to breathe a bit, away from all the toil.

It is at this time that some may fall into temptation. Depending on the level of christian maturity, one may desire to try out something new.

If one falls, then conscience takes its toll. The enemy begins to speak condemnation.

In military they say "watch out for the last man" when it seems the whole battalion has passed by, an attempt to come out of the safe zone could attract the last man trailing behind, then it brings down the whole battalion.

Thus even in these times we must be careful and keep watching, don't get carried away like Noah who went on a drinking spree after the flood.

We need to be rest assured that the Lord got us covered, our victory is assured thus we must not be careless. Rest we must, play we would, unwind we will, but all in order.

1 Corinthians 14:40

But be sure that everything is done properly and in order.

Romans 8:37

Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us

In all one thing is certain He has given us victory.

Romans 15:13

Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Let us therefore excite ourselves more in the Holy Spirit!

He calls us blessed.
