THE STORM - OUR TEST

Proverbs 24:10

If you fail under pressure, your strength is too small.

2Timothy 2:1

You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.

We must understand that as long as we live here on earth there will be times when the storm would rage. When things may not look as we want it to. Then our faith is challenged.

Truely it is an illusion to the believer, yes because just as the disciples were afraid with Jesus in the boat the same way we may become afraid thinking we are alone. But we are never alone:

Hebrews 13:5b

For God has said, “I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.”

Let us be reminded that nothing stands to be accepted as true or as what it is, till it has passed its own test.

1Peter 1:7

that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ,

Revelation 2:2

"I know your works, your labor, your patience, and that you cannot bear those who are evil. And you have tested those who say they are apostles and are not, and have found them liars;

Every promotion comes after the test has been passed. Yes it might look difficult yet when it is over you get promoted.

1Peter 5:10

But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.

Yes, after a little while. Thus we must not get discouraged, we must not givein to complacency or stay complaining, but take charge of the situation to fulfil it's purpose. Take an example of Joseph, as a little boy, he saw his dream of ruling to the extend that his parents and elders bowed to him, but it started with an attempt on his life, then slavery, then he became a house-keeper then he landed in prison for being faithful, then when it was as if he was forgotten he rose to royalty and authority to the extent that people could not eat without his permission.

2 Timothy 3:16-17

All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.

God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.

So we learn from the examples of lives in scriptures, for one common denominator of them all is that they did not give in, they faced their test and came out triumphant.

We have a greater privilege, we have been saved from the power of sin and death, we have been made son's of God and have His Spirit living in us. We do better. So help us Good Lord.

Give God praise this morning.

We win.

He calls us blessed.

Love
