THE LOVING LEADER
Philemon 1:18-20,25
If he has wronged you in any way or owes you anything, charge it to me.
i, paul, write this with my own hand: i will repay it. and i won’t mention that you owe me your very soul!
Yes, my brother, please do me this favor for the Lord’s sake. Give me this encouragement in Christ.
May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.
Forgiveness and the grace for another opportunity is one good nature of the good leader. That great aura that transforms the life of those that encounter us, Jesus had that type of effect on those who came His way.
Yes, there are those who have been hardened especially those who feel they know, or dog bent on religion, they encounter - but are not transformed:
John 9:38-41
“Yes, Lord, I believe!” the man said. And he worshiped Jesus.
Then Jesus told him, “I entered this world to render judgment—to give sight to the blind and to show those who think they see that they are blind.”
Some Pharisees who were standing nearby heard him and asked, “Are you saying we’re blind?”
“If you were blind, you wouldn’t be guilty,” Jesus replied. “But you remain guilty because you claim you can see.
Listen to what Christ says:
Luke 19:9-10
Jesus responded, “Salvation has come to this home today, for this man has shown himself to be a true son of Abraham.
For the Son of Man came to seek and save those who are lost.”
He spoke this in the house of Zacchaeus, who climbed up a tree to see Him.
So obviously Onesimus must have erred and ran off from Colossae, however he encountered Paul and he did not remain the same, he was transformed to a new man.
Philemon 1:10-11
I appeal to you to show kindness to my child, Onesimus. I became his father in the faith while here in prison.
Onesimus hasn’t been of much use to you in the past, but now he is very useful to both of us.
What is your story as a loving leader, how many can glorify the Lord that they met you.
Matthew 5:16
In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.
Yes, not all want to turn, some could even be a persecution or a thorn to you, however many hearts cry out for redemption, some are tired of their wrong ways, some need words of encouragement, some just don't know, it is our duty as His ambassadors to shine that light, to throw out that lifeline that the drowning will be saved.
However, you cannot give what you do not have. Also, you canNot be down and lift someone who is down, the blind cannot lead the blind.
Luke 6:39
Then Jesus gave the following illustration: “Can one blind person lead another? Won’t they both fall into a ditch?
So all your study, prayers, meditation, discipline, fellowship, are not in vain, they empower you to do the good work. Glory to God.
This great song by Ray Boltz stirs our heart to be that good leader, the chorus goes thus:
Thank you for giving to the Lord.
I am a life that was changed.
Thank you for giving to the Lord.
I am so glad you gave.
What is your testimony as a loving leader?
Help us Good Lord.
He calls us blessed.
Love
@the watcher.
